elucien is such a depressing ship. i'm convinced nobody genuinely ships these two.

The tragedy of Elain & Azriel
Perhaps the damage was done the moment our eyes met.
BB told them to take that shit down.
You know why Elriel as a fandom never had a 'leader'? Because no one needed to 'teach' or 'explain' Elriel to the readers. They simply read the books and saw Elriel. It goes as far as 2016, when readers began talking about Elain and Azriel as a potential couple despite the Elucien bond.
You know why Gwynriel was born online and exists mostly online? Why it needed leader(s) to teach and explain and 'fight' for Gwynriel? Because it was not clear from the books and people who read ACOSF didn't come out thinking 'OMG, Gwynriel!' That's why the push for it online has been so hard. You could avoid reading the actual books and just exist in a bubble of 'belief' without any proof or evidence.
That's the difference.
Elriel is organic. Gwynriel is made up.
She opened her mouth to ask more, but he didn’t feel like explaining. Or demonstrating, since that was surely what she’d ask next. So Az jerked his chin to the sword dangling from her hand. “Try cutting the ribbon again.”
“Again,” he ordered, rubbing his hands against the cold, grateful for its bracing bite and the distraction of this impromptu lesson.
the fact that this ship even exists is comical tbh.
Lucien's and Azriel's thoughts were THE SAME.
You do realise that the same thoughts Lucien had towards Elain when she was at her worst and weren't reciprocal at all (touch her, taste her, smell her)
Were the same fucking thoughts Azriel had? He wanted to taste her 😺, he smelled her arousal and her scent (his eyes rolling back btw) and he touched her nape, her neck, and her hair (erogenous zones, mind you)
You mean to tell me that you prefer Lucien's scene, where she was miserable, than Azriel's scene, in which his thoughts were THE SAME as Lucien's, except Elain was turned on, healthy and reciprocating everything.
You guys are creepy and weird as fuck.
