Oh wow this is... very late. But I guess it’s better to post now than never. So this was for @gemsona-hq‘s August gem challenge. The gem was Nuummite. I decided to make Nuummite a fusion as the real stone is already a mixture of different minerals. I’m never designing eight different gems at once ever again.
Nuummite is a secret fusion of Anthophyllite, Gedrite, and Pyrite. The three of them all work for Homeworld as Gem hunters. They fuse into Nuummite to get the job done efficiently. Cunning, mischevious, but a tad serious he finds joy in the hunt. The mask Nuummite wears always has a large, teethy grin. He never takes it off because he’s quite embarassed of his “goofy” face underneath. Nuummite’s weapon is a lantern that lures Gems with its entrancing flame and traps them when they get close.
Anthophyllite: A sadistic scientist and a certified gem harvester responsible for collecting gemstones. Sometimes, Anthophyllite will assist experimenting on the gemstones he’s captured (and enjoys doing so). The experience of being Nuummite is fascinating and something he likes to explore further. His weapon is a teasing needle.
Gedrite: Gedrite is a cowardly pilot who helps his partners track down wanted Gems. Although he hates his job, Gedrite enjoys being Nuummite as it makes him feel confident and brave. His weapon is a hand cannon.
Pyrite: The manager and de-facto leader of the group. He makes sure Nuummite’s existence is kept hidden from his superiors. While Pyrite sees the benefits of fusion, lying about it has slowly ate at him. Pyrite’s weapon is a flail.
Other MGCs: Boulder Opal | Hackmanite | Heinrichite | Cacoxenite
Petoskey Stone | Grape Agate | Spirit Quartz | Nuummite|
Desert Rose| Tiger Iron | Crocoite | Chrysanthemum Stone
386 Nuummite from Nuuk, Greenland
weight 28g/140cts & dimensions 27x20x18mm
Nuummite is a rare metamorphic rock, consisting of the minerals Gedrite and Anthophyllite, which form lamellae that give the rock its typical iridescence. Usually black in colour and opaque, Nuummite is named after the area of Nuuk in Greenland, where it was found.
