Making sure Constantine would see the message Heaven had to send him was a matter of precision. If the message was too high or just too far off to his side, he might miss it. Then that whole business with Christ appearing to him in a dream might not make as much sense. Constantine wasn’t a moron, he might still understand his destiny. But as this was a task specifically given to the resident principality, it was just as important to have the cross visible in the sky as it was for Christ to appear to Constantine in a dream.

Aziraphale paced up and down what would be in two days a battlefield. Two armies would meet, only one would stand triumphant. In just one day Constantine would receive his holy message in the sky.

The Angel had put quite a bit of thought into where he might want to display said message. He could stand just about anywhere in Rome and be able to complete his miracle. Where better to to project your message than in the sun itself? Aziraphale looked up to the sky and nodded to himself. In a day, Constantine would look up to the sun and read just beneath Jesus’ holy symbol:

                        In Hoc Signo Vinae

With all the planning he could do for the day, he would take his leave. There were some good places to visit in Rome, after all. He started to make his way across Milvian Bridge. It was strange to think it would be soon covered in blood and bodies. Today it was quiet, leather sandals from he and other persons pattered quietly against rugged stone. He would hope for their sakes they would be far from the battle cries.
