Lunar Meteorites Every year since the late 1970s, a team of US based scientists is organized by the Smithsonian and NASA to take a trip down to Antarctica over that continent’s summer. They move along the ice sheets looking for rocks, and go to the places where the glaciers ablate also looking for rocks. Why?
Anorthosite Rock
It's a very special type of gabbroic Rocks that consist mainly of one Ca-Plagioclase minerals (Labradorite).
Orthopyroxene minerals may be exist as very subordinate amount.
Cumulus Texture as a characteristic feature of that type of rocks.
The following figures show Anorthosite rock in hand specimen in which labradorescence shows a blue iridescent flashes, and thin section shows the unique characters of that rock.
Anorthosite.
A rock almost entirely composed of a single mineral called plagioclase.
Image was taken with a petrographic microscope.
Anorthosite is an intrusive igneous rock characterised by mostly plagioclase feldspar. The top pictures two sample of Anorthosite found on earth, and the bottom pictures anorthosite samples from our Moon.
The reason the moon samples seem much lighter and broken up is because of all of the impacts our Moon has dealt with over millions of years, turning the rock into the fine white dust we know today.
I have more moon samples on the way. :)

083 Labradorite also known as Spectrolite
weight 13g/65cts & dimensions 28x20x15mm
Labradorite is a Feldspar mineral of the plagioclase series that is most often found in mafic igneous rocks such as Basalt, Gabbro, and Norite. It is also found in Anorthosite, an igneous rock in which Labradorite can be the most abundant mineral.
395 Anorthosite also known as Northosite
weight 10g/50cts & dimensions 25x18x15mm
Anorthosite is a phaneritic, intrusive igneous rock characterised by a predominance of plagioclase feldspar, and a minimal mafic component. Pyroxene, Ilmenite, Magnetite, and Olivine are the mafic minerals most commonly present.
