It started in early March when I had a vision of Chris whispering in my ear about his former girlfriends, like there was something they all had in common, almost saying "don't ignore that this is different - save me". I then had this strange electrical surge in my body, like an involuntary stretch, and he was gone. It freaked me out, so I ignored every message I got until recently.

Lately I have gotten a lot of feelings from him that every time he seems to get it together, the rug gets pulled out from under him (I know, going out on a ledge with that vision, right). I tend to think in song lyrics and I keep hearing Holocene by Bon Iver- "and at once I knew, I was not magnificent." It's to the point where I see him traveling at high velocity and is putting his hands over his eyes, knowing he is going to crash somewhere at some point, so what does it matter to watch (metaphorically- I don't think he will actively hurt himself).

For fs, I don't see her currently married, but she may have been in the past. She definitely has not had luck in love and will make her side eye Chris when they do meet. He will actually have to work on this one to prove himself, and he will do so with everything he has. His level of weird will meet her level of weird perfectly and they will understand each other's quirks that were roadblocks in previous relationships. She will be kind, funny and intelligent and will challenge him and his way of thinking. He may not like this at times and could resist, but she will learn when to push and when to stop. They are both incredibly independent and will make a meaningful life for themselves, under their terms, whether people understand it or not.

First of all, I would never want you to feel like you’re *expected* to do something that gives you anxiety. 

To me, an anon message or a private message is just as meaningful as a like or a reblog, even though it’s not a “note”. I think it’s really shitty when people try to make readers feel guilty about not engaging publicly - holding chapters hostage until they get a certain number of likes or reblogs, refusing to update or continue writing until they get feedback from readers.  It’s not a reader’s job or responsibility to validate a writer in that way for a free platform like Tumblr. It’s very different if as a writer, you’re getting paid to do something; then, you NEED that feedback because you need to know what you’ll have to change or address moving forward in order to ensure that your work sells. 

Do I like reading comments and seeing a lot of notes on something that I worked hard on? Of course - who doesn’t? And is it disheartening to write 8,0000 words a chapter for 10 chapters and have fewer notes on all those pieces combined than something that has a million typos and reads like it was written in 5 minutes and is barely 600 words long - or even is just a random picture with a funny saying superimposed atop it in comic sans? It sure is. But I’d rather have real, honest feedback from fewer people even if it’s private than 500 likes on something without anyone actually saying what they liked or didn’t like. 

I’m writing for myself, at the end of the day. I’m posting things because I’ve finished them and want to share them. If people want to reblog them? That’s great, and it means that more people will see it. But again, you - as a reader - should N E V E R feel guilty or anxious about your obligation to share content. That defeats the purpose of you doing something that you enjoy - like reading silly stories about fictional characters. I always operate on the idea that there are plenty more people lurking and reading without any sort of interaction at all, and that’s motivation enough for me to keep writing. I know how I was before I made this tumblr, so I can’t fault people for doing the same thing. 

TL;DR: Do whatever makes you comfortable. You don’t owe anyone ANYTHING.
