I don’t know why, but I think the second person POV is quite bold, in the sense that it not only acknowledges the reader as they read, but it even utilizes the presence of the reader as they read. The writer has the full capacity to fictionalize you, who is 100% real, and brings you in their existing, but fictional world, where you can be anything or nothing. You are in fiction, yet you are also out of it, as you are presently in reality. You are unexpectedly the main character by some author. But also, you are not just the main character, because of the power that any other you can be anybody but you. In the end, we become these you’s who fill the gap of an essential role in someone else’s story, who probably may or may not have a clue on who their readers will be. That’s pretty bold to me.
