Aaaand my fursona with Almdudler as well. I am obsessed with this soda.
Yesterday I was at a celebration of a club of the village where the group home is. It's a mix of a hunting club and a shooting club. At first I sat down at a table where I was alone but a person ask me if I want to sit with others and then they brought me to a table with others. I ate pork with fries and drank Almdudler which is a famous drink in Austria. At first there was an elderly couple with me on the table. I only talk 1-3 sentences with them and it's because the woman started. Then they went away and an old man sat down. At first I also didn't talked with him amd just ate my food but than he talked 1-3 sentences like the other people then it stopped but later I had an idea how to start a conversation which is normally nearly impossible for me.
I asked him, "You are already retired. Am I right?" He said yes. Then I asked what he was working before. So, the conversation started. We talked a bit about technology because he asked a question about my Bluetooth in ears and told me about his watch which helps him to keep him safe because he can call an organisation which helps elderly people with one button if he fell and can't get up anymore. Then we also talked about my day centre and that the caretaker there said we have too little crafting stuff. He asked if he could bring something there and what we would need. I said I don't know exactly what we need but I told him where in the village the day centre is and when it was open. I think he will probably come to the day centre next week to ask the caretaker what we need.
I like conversation with people but it's hard to start. That's the first conversation with strangers I started on my own since multiple years or maybe in my life time I think. I'm so proud of myself.

attention everyone I'm talking about austrian stuff again. today:
Frucade
Frucade is supposed to be some kind of orange-lemon-fruit-lemonade-soda pop drink I guess? It's something typically austrian that you can order almost everywhere. It's sold in 1 and 1.5 l plastic bottles, but people of culture of course prefer the 0.5 l glass bottle (for the aesthetic and the environment). Drinking Frucade makes me feel nostalgic because when I was little it was the #1 drink for children, besides Almdudler (which is also typically austrian).
Speaking of it,
Almdudler
is some kind of herbal lemonade(??) that we call the austrian version of ginger ale. Today I like it even more than Frucade (funfact one of my favourite alcoholic drinks is Alm weiß or Alm rot (1 part white or red wine, 1 part water, 1 part Almdudler))
ANYWAYS the best thing about both are the very memeable ads.
Frucade: "So viel Frucht is nicht zu fassen!" (So much fruit can't be grasped!) - despite probably consisting of probably 80% water and sugar - and "Wuchtig fruchtig!" (Weighty fruity!) - I loved the tv ad as a kid
Almduder: "Waun de koan Oimdudler haum, gemma wieda ham!" (Wenn die keinen Almdudler haben, gehen wir wieder nach Hause! - If they don't have Almdudler, we will go back home!) - always a fun thing to say, never gets old as a joke
