When the two of you are alone, without mission or duty, he’s so giggly—blushing at you with a sparkle in his eyes.

And yet, you never seem to realize it.

Perhaps you simply see him as an avid fan, a hero worshipper.

Or maybe he’s so nervous all the time that you couldn’t even tell the difference.

He wishes so deeply that you would see it.

He couldn’t risk your friendship, nor his position among the Scions, by making some bold, lustful move.

It’s not every day that the Warrior of Light visits him in the library, but it happens often enough.

He helps you with whatever research is relevant to the quests you’ve taken on lately.

He feels as though he’s come to know you and your motives much better.

It has been ages since he’s flirted with anyone, and he’s never been a particularly forward man.

So when he slyly brushes your hand while handing you something, or when he looks deeply into your eyes, his voice deep and slow as he speaks, he hopes to get some sort of reaction from you.

But it never comes.

He even tries a few jokes and an innuendo (albeit delivered with his characteristically dry humor).

Now he’s overthinking it, ruminating over your every reaction long after you’ve left.

Y’shtola:

The two of you sit alone over wine, an intimate environment, but not one too far removed from your usual outings.

She looks up at you from beneath her lashes.

She guides the conversation, allowing small pieces of praise to slip between the sharper remarks she delivers so effortlessly.

Her hand rests on your knee by the second drink.

She’s trying her best to be playful.

She’s never blushed like this in front of you before.

And yet you barely notice the change in her demeanor. She blames your dislike of eye contact.

She may have to be far, far more forward… perhaps after one more glass of dry red.

Tataru:

She smiles slyly as she hands you your tea, having finally memorized exactly how you take it.

She immediately offers you all of her advice, free of charge, whenever you mention anything about personal budgeting.

She gives you flirty looks from below, her smile full of ulterior motives.

It should have come as no shock when she came to you offering to share the finest bottle of Ul’dahn champagne she’d purchased in years.

Yet you seem so surprised that she chose you for such a thing.

As if she hasn’t been trying to get you alone for moons.

Eye roll.

Krile:

She’s always given you little smirks.

There seem to be different types of smirks, but you really can't place their meanings.

She’s tried praise. Suggestive remarks. Nothing works.

When she finally says something far too straightforward, she can’t help but giggle as you once again miss the signal entirely.

She won’t tease you about it, but she absolutely tells ’Raha.

Then again, he’s just as oblivious as you are when it comes to social cues.

Alisaie:

Oh, the two of you get each other so wound up—giggling and laughing until you’re bent over in pain.

You poke fun at each other and pretend to hate one another.

Unless it’s business, nothing comes out of her mouth that isn’t catty, sarcastic, competitive, or downright aggressive.

She calls you coward, bitch, loser, and worse.

Play fighting is practically your love language.

The more she grows to like you, the more she wonders if this looks entirely like a sibling dynamic to you.

She tried sarcastically implying she’s into you… and you just kept joking like normal.

She can’t just “make a move.” That would imply she likes you or something.

Alphinaud:

He looks up to you so dearly.

He’s such a sweetheart; his love and romantic intentions are incredibly pure.

He wishes he could protect you even a fraction as much as you protect him.

He’s had romantic experiences before, but looking back, they always flirted with him rather than the other way around.

His wealth and academic success made him a very sought-after bachelor in Sharlayan. But now? With someone so far above him…

He knows not whether he would try to win you over, or if he would even be capable of mustering the courage.
