Don was born in a Steppe warzone, an unlikely survivor. A traveler found her alive in rubble & brought her to the Kahkol tribe to be taken care of as one of their refugees. It is unclear which tribe she initially hails from.
The couple that took her in moved to Ul'dah some months later, wishing to use their Xaela contacts to sell Eorzeans rare ores that could only be mined from the Steppe.
They made a good living for themselves, and sent Don to the Arrzaneth Ossuary for her education.
She took up Thaumaturgy & later Black Magic
She took on the alias Don Won (real name Khutulun Kahkol) both to evade anti-black magic laws & to evade her past identity of being an orphan abandoned on the Steppe (not just bcuz she chose a silly username)
After graduating, she made her coin as an adventurer & by training thaumaturges for the Immortal Flames.
She learns the art of tanking from her Immortal Flames comrades.
Despite being of a foreign race, she truly prides herself in being Ul'dahn.
(I'd like to expand on how Ul'dah's religion played a part in her life sometime)
When being scouted for the Scions, she may or may not have hooked up with Thancred.
During ARR, she has a bit of an undefined relationship with Urianger.
They like to send flirty missives & have hooked up a few times.
Despite his intentional distance, she tends to pickup on his deceptions, coming to find his ability to act quite exhilarating.
It becomes a bit unhealthy. She gets excited solving his lies.
His distance is a bit too addictive.
It isn't until Shadowbringers, when Urianger confesses his yearning over the 3 year gap, that the relationship turns into something serious.
By Endwalker, Urianger truly shows his true self to her- why he lies the way he does.
She isolates a lot during Stormblood to cope.
She really fails to cope with the happenings of Shadowbringers & Endwalker and crashes out a few times.
Hence she seeks out the comfort of Urianger despite his lies.
Because of their shared rough exteriors, Thancred has always been her closest friend amongst the Scions, but with way too much sexual tension & a few hookups.
They're both blunt, daring, suicidally protective... alcoholics who struggle to show affection. (smh tank mains)
They're both at lows together in Heavensward, and not handling things well, taking a cruel comfort in each other.
Don highkey resents Thancred for the way he treated Ryne, & for moons it tended to come out at when they were drinking.
Thancred & Urianger began to seek closeness from each other during their time on the first, including raising Ryne.
This led to the throuple that is Thancred, Don, & Urianger.
While Don & Urianger are a romantic couple, Thancred tends to keep to himself and treat it like a purely sexual thing (at first).
While Urianger is her safe person, Thancred is the enabling, adrenaline-inducing situationship figure.
They slowly grow to properly show love for each other.
She thought the thing with Louisoix was a cult from the start, so there's a bit of an "I can fix them" thing going on

Pros: reasons to add Urianger to ur wolcred & throuple that shit:
You get 2 boyfriends at the same time (and the boyfriends are boyfriends)
Urianger is a character that can fit any gender headcanon you want. He doesn't even have to be a boyfriend
Adopt their teenage daughter
Urianger plays mediator for Thancred and his ~issues~
Thancred plays wingman for Urianger and his awkwardness
You basically get two opposite parters. The whole spectrum if you will
Urianger is soft where Thancred is rough but Thancred has experience where Urianger doesn't
He's hot and solving a love triangle with polyamory is my favorite trope

Cons (really they could just be fun writing challenges):
You have to come up with reasons for why both your boyfriends keep running off without you. Does it make more or less sense than only 1 boyfriend running off with his friend?
Thancred & Urianger spent years alone together on the first. Does this make the character a third wheel? Was the character there too? Do they work on catching up and repairing the relationship? Does the distance make them yearn more? Many ideas.
You now have to share your man. it's Thancred so he can probs keep up tho.
You now have to explain to the Scions that you're in a throuple. How socially acceptable this is on Etheirys is up to you.

Coming up with Urianger dialogue
I vote do it. I don't really know you're character's exact personality but it's a fun dynamic to cook in your brain. Urianger & Thancred are long time friends from the same screwed up cult backstory who fall in love as they slowly grow past everything they've been through and the idea of them sharing a partner is very romantic.
Honestly you can always make a version of your charcter's story where they are monogamous & one where they are polyamorous. That's what I've been doing with my WoL, or at least I've been writing the wol/Urianger stuff first then going back and adding the wol/Thancred relationship retroactively up until Shadowbringers. Your characters don't have to be locked into one canon this is fanfiction. Go forth and rotate these ships in your head like a goddamn microwave.
