ABOUT
Alecto was born in The Wards, her mother dying giving birth to her so she ended up in a make-shift orphanage, never to be adopted. She was just another forgotten face, unregistered and unimportant to the powers that be.
She grew up on the streets essentially, always a bit intense, always a bit ambitious, always making plans to steal food or clothes or broken toys from other kids. She had a quick-wit and a surprising sense of humor (mostly dark), but when people saw that half-smirk, half-smile cross her lips, they never knew whether to be relieved or nervous.
She and her best friend, Roxy, ended up joining a group of hijackers when they were young. In this group, they were taught the ways of the tunnels, of the hijacker mindset and lifestyle. Alecto had no one but Roxy anyway. Until she joined the Hijackers, she didn't really even have a name. Just girl. Bitch. Street rat. Wardie. She chose the name because one of the Hijackers told stories of mythology from earth. Like the gods and their power, and the fates who held them to account. Thus, she named herself Alecto, the fury of unceasing wrath and vengeance.
The hijackers treated them like family, and Alecto was proud to be one of them. Their group became successful, leaving a trail of violence and loss in their wake, but they only see gain. Only see themselves as taking what they can because they can, and if others could do the same they would.
It’s not uncommon for the hijackers to do work on the black market, and even sometimes helping TPC for the riskier jobs. Although, helping always comes at a price. Credits and Rations aren’t very tempting for the hijackers, since they have no digital credentials and can’t be transferred any currency. It’s harder work for them to use them or trade them, so they prefer to be paid with goods, weapons or worse, owed favors.
Alecto enjoys the thrill of the chase – of the hunt. Of finding the best targets and executing their plans. She's got a taste for the finer things they come across, which never stay fine for long when guns and knives and violence are involved. But the blood-stained pink fur coat she wears takes people aback when it reveals an array of weapons beneath the surface, most notably her twin thermal knives she keeps on her at all times. Along with several guns. But she'd rather not waste charge on easy to handle targets, and much prefers the thrill of a close-quarters fight anyway.
A few years ago, she and Roxy rescued a genetically altered hyena from a lab in Olympia, with the personality of cat. They named her Havoc, or Havvy, and she's with them whenever they're on a run.
Things are how they've always been, and how they'll always be. Being a hijacker means not adhering to the social order, good, bad or otherwise. It also means that Alecto is content with how things are – she enjoys the thrill of a fight, the taste of success, the nerves that are palpable when people mention Hijackers at all. She doesn't think anything will change, and, quite frankly, she doesn't want it to. This life hasn't been kind to her, so why should it be to anyone else?
