The new Akustage, “Butlers’ Opera “Devil Butlers with Black Cat” ~When the Angels come, the Ancient Tower Chapter~ will be starting on June 6, 2026, at the Tokyo’s Tennozu Galaxy Theatre.

This is a continuation from the stage play in June 2024. The September of last year had a dinner menu course where the butlers welcomed the Arujisamas with live piano and singing, which was known as the “Devil’s Harvest Dinner Show”.

This time at 4Gamers, we are able to interview the cast of Akustage: Mr. Fujita Ray, who played as Berrien Cliane, Mr. Imai Shunto who played as Bastien Kelly and Mr. Ando Yuuto who played as Lono Fontaine.

4Gamers: Please tell me about your thoughts after the new stage play was decided!

Ando Yuuto (Lono): I had a feeling like, “Finally…!” I performed at the “Devil’s Harvest Secret Dinner Show” (in Sep 2025), I didn’t think a lot of time had passed, but I’m really happy to be able to perform with everyone again. It’s such an amazing cast and I’m really looking forward to jump into it again.

Imai Shunto (Bastien): I love “Akustage”, so I was like “It finally came…!!”, “I’m so happy.” Type of big feelings. Just like what Andy (Ando Yuuto) said, I’m really excited to see what the new stage play will be with the recurring cast and new characters.

Fujita Ray (Berrien): During the previous stage play, I was talking about how, “I wish there was a continuation.” The wonderful cast members will come back to Akustage again after 2 years. My honest thoughts are that I wish to hurry and show you the butlers who have received a power-up.

4Gamers: I heard that this time there will be a focus on Bastien, who is played by Mr. Imai.

Imai Shunto (Bastien): That’s true. I felt that “I have to work even harder.” There’s going to be more sword fights, I’ll prioritize to train my body more.

4Gamers: For the new stage play, what are you excited for or looking forward to the most?

Ando Yuuto (Lono): First of all, there is the new cast for the new characters. I think everyone is looking forward to their appearances in the show, so there’s a feeling of excitement and anxiousness. I hope we can take the lead and guide the story forward.

As well, we’re also excited for the two new cast members for Muu, we look forward to see the both of them working hard together.

Fujita Ray (Berrien): As well, there’s the “Meditation Time” to welcome the Arujisamas in the beginning section, I felt very very nervous about it….!

Imai Shunto (Bastien): I used to think I definitely couldn’t do “Meditation time”…

Ando Yuuto (Lono): So I’m looking forward to see what kind of Muu-chans the two of them will be playing as. I think maybe they’ll be performing as slightly different Muus from each other. How about the two of you, what are you looking forward to?

Imai Shunto (Bastien): I’m also looking forward to meeting Muu-chan too. I was really healed by him even in the practice room.

Ando Yuuto (Lono): During the practice for the “Tonkatsu” song (Not a PIG!), the other cast members all stood up and got excited!

Fujita Ray (Berrien): There are a lot of wonderful songs in “Akustage”, that’s why I’m really looking forward to the songs for this new stage. I wonder what kind of songs will be in the playlist and I want everyone to pay attention to them.

4Gamers: Please tell me about the behind-the-scenes stories in the previous performances and rehearsals!

Ando Yuuto (Lono): Mr. Ray really likes Toriku bento box. At the end of the performance, he would rush to get the bento box when it came out and he’ll be like “Purple (bento box) get~!!”

Fujita Ray (Berrien): I especially love the purple package bento, so I’ll have to hurry and get it. But, Kawakami Shota (Miyaji) would always get it first (LOL).

Everyone: (LOL)

Fujita Ray (Berrien): In the dressing room, I, Kawakami Shota (Miyaji) and Teruma (Lucas) were at the same table, but both Teruma and I are quite the foodies. I remember seeing Teruma saying, “Are you serious? (LOL)” because Kawakami Shota had grabbed it before us. The Bento was delicious, wasn’t it?

Ando Yuuto (Lono): It was delicious. I was happy I could see a cheerful innocent Mr. Ray during that time.

Fujita Ray (Berrien): Maybe it’s because I’m playing as Berrien. For me, he’s quite a rare type of role to play as.

Imai Shunto (Bastien): For me, I remember tasting the food from the “Secret Dinner Show”’s dinner course menu. It was so delicious…!!

Fujita Ray (Berrien): It was ridiculously delicious.

4Gamers: Everyone was also served the course menu as well, right?

Fujita Ray (Berrien): That’s right, they also prepared for the cast members as well.

Imai Shunto (Bastien): After eating, I could form the images in my head so easily and it was easier to sing.

Ando Yuuto (Lono): Yeah, yeah! I feel like I was able to explain more eloquently after eating.

Imai Shunto (Bastien): Personally I had a challenge for myself to do a magic trick. I remember coming up with it together with everyone, including Mr. Ray.

Fujita Ray (Berrien): The Dinner Show Venue “COTTON CLUB” was really fitting for the World Setting for Akuneko, it’s a really nice space. Since the distance between us and Arujisama was closer, I would be especially careful about every gesture and movements.

Ando Yuuto (Lono): So true. After the Dinner Show experience, I felt like I had a deeper understanding of my role as Lono.

4Gamers: What do you think is the charisma for Akuneko and Akustage?

Fujita Ray (Berrien): Whether it’s the songs or the worldbuilding, or the adorable outfits, every aspects feels “out of the ordinary”, doesn’t it? I feel like Akustage gathered a group of people who are experts in their respective fields, so that the cast members could really feel the passion and hard work that goes into crafting the songs and the staging. On top of that, I think the way it can closely connect with the Arujisamas is another wonderful aspect about this content.

Ando Yuuto (Lono): Exactly like what you said! For me, it was a series that “you could really decide on who to be a fan of!” It’s a wonderful thing to do so. In Akuneko, the butlers are filled with different types, personalities, and roles, you could really understand their values. I personally think that the charm of the butlers are what makes Akuneko and Akustage great.

Imai Shunto (Bastien): For me, it’s a winning landslide towards Muu-chan’s adorableness. (LOL) he can heal everyone in the world.

Fujita Ray (Berrien): You’re already a “parent” (LOL)

Imai Shunto (Bastien): The butlers have different tastes, so it’s fun to watch them.

4Gamers: Lastly, please give a message to the Arujisama who would be reading this column!

Ando Yuuto (Lono): It has been 2 years since the last work, please look forward to our power-up performances! I hope you also get healed from watching the Akustage too. I think there are some heart-wrenching scenes in the work, but after everyone is healed from the stage play, then open the game app, you can be healed again…to which I meant that you can fill the entire day with Akuneko.

Imai Shunto (Bastien): As a butler, I hope to make a work that Arujisama could enjoy while being close to you. I will act to convey such a feeling to reach everyone, please look forward to it!

This was a Q&A session done during the Akustage Cafe period.

The actors involved are Ray Fujita (Berrien), Yuto Ando (Lono), Shunto Imai (Bastien), Hiroki Kajita (Fennesz), Ryujiro Izaki (Lato).

During the morning session, there is Seira Ina (Muu) and the evening event, there is Seishiro Higurashi (Flure).

What did they think of their role?

Ryujiro Izaki was researching about Lato and he was dead set on playing as Lato, so much so that he doesn’t want anyone else taking this role and even prayed that he could be Lato 😭 and he did and was so perfectly as Lato.

With Hiroki Kajita, he said since Fennesz also lifts weights, he thought it was fate that he played as Fennesz. And when he was reading about Akuneko, he really liked the pretty gothic aesthetic. He thought the world setting was cool.

Yuto Ando really liked Lono’s neck collar and his bandage and he also really likes cooking in real life too!

When Seishiro Higurashi got Flure’s role, he was really surprised and he was really happy.

Ray Fujita was was in his manager’s car when he got the news he was playing as Berrien and he’s like “me????”

The actors all answered it was Lono’s actor cuz he learned dance since he was four 🥺

Berrien and Lono’s actors said it was Miyaji’s katana.

Berrien’s actor was like so for the blu-ray does that mean we would have to censor that phrase-

Lono really likes the third floor main song “Third Floor with Love” phrase “I’ll be protecting you just like where the stars are ✨”

Bastien likes the “I’m hungry~” where he first sang in “First Floor.” He said it sounded like the beginning of a song for a kindergartener JAJSJSW

Fennesz likes the phrase “hiding your weakness weaponized by a smile” in “Welcome to the Butler’s world.”

And Berrien’s actor was joking, “don’t you mean weaponized by your muscles-“

Lato’s actor likes “Mr. Pig (Buta-san)” and the other actors be like please don’t say this to others in real life-

Berrien likes the low part in “we are one world”

What did they think about the outfits?

They were super impressed by how elaborate and detailed the costumes were.

There were also some adjustments made by the outfit department to the outfit too since:

Apparently Berrien’s actor’s choker was also kind of affecting how he sings too and Fennesz’s actor was with his monocle akjsjs like he was being poked by the monocle and Bastien’s actor was with the belt that was close to his thigh, it was kind of hurting him at the end and with Flure it was the diamond on his outfit and Lato’s actor had a real bell on him, he thought it was going to be a lighter bell-like item, but no, it was an actual heavy bell SJJDJS with Lono’s bandages they really want to make it as close to the original so they had a hard time placing that shshsh

Who was the most healing?

And they all said it was Muu’s actor.

What were you aware of when you were playing your character?

Berrien: I usually do a relaxed posture but with Berrien, I would be more aware of my posture

And Lono followed Berrien, “since Lono’s not really proper butler like, he would also try to balance where when he’s facing Arujisama to make sure he’s not too proper and he’s not not proper.”

Fennesz: Fennesz seems like the type who would be super concentrated so I’ll act like I’m always aware of my surroundings.

Bastien: Bastien is really honest yet at the same time his expression doesn’t really show that so he’ll be more aware of Bastien’s feeling when he was playing with a cat or fighting with Lono.

Muu: between how Muu acts as a butler vs the reaper arc scene, he would have to be aware of how the acting shifts.

Most likely this takes place around Main Story ep. 2, I wonder if they’ll continue from Bastien’s demonization? 🥺 (although I wonder how they are going to introduce Yuuhan since he did appear in ep 1 before and he was also fighting along side them (most likely we’ll have a super friendly Yuuhan solo song! And the other butlers be like don’t get so close to Arujisama-) and also hehe maybe a Teddy rambling about knights solo song too! It’ll be cute if he started rambling about the butlers to the audience. (Although cries not sure where they are going to stop but since Cherubim is here, it’s most likely Haures’ arc (although I’m not seeing Tricia so are we not going to see her? 🥺) maybe it’s the same as Jessica from last time where it’s only voice.

Hehe I can imagine a cute scene where the butlers try to cheer Haures up by helping him relax.

So the song opens with Berrien, him singing in English (so we can be sure that Akuneko really does take place where English is the main language)

And esp they sign their names in English, even Yuuhan and Hanamaru, and also in some merch, like in Akuneko exhibition, they have English phrases.

Berrien is definitely the first one we meet, and from the moment we met, we are destined to be with the butlers, and despite the darkness we all face, they still have this hopefulness amongst the darkness. (So Arujisama really is your light and the butlers also act as Aruji’s light when they feel they’re trapped in the darkness)

For Haures, after episode 2, we know he has been holding in his hatred for the nobles just to serve them as a butler 😭 and it’s so hard but he’s doing it so well behind his professional, perfectionist smile, which is why it was so surprising to see when Haures got demonized, he has these true thoughts of wanting to eliminate every single one who will cause harm to the ones he hold dear.

As for Nac, he also has been keeping his life together, mysterious, not wanting to let Aruji know about his assassin past, and he has no intention of letting others see his scars too and he seems to have his life all together too, until he meets Aruji where he starts to reveal his true self and feelings, wanting Arujisama to accept him for who he is at the same time still remaining proper. But in Butlers in wonderland, you can really see his true desires as the butterfly keeping Aruji, saying even if there are butlers who will serve you, you will still choose to be in your original world 😭

With Bastien, since his background was with the underground military team Black Snake, and I bet he has been in multiple conflicts and war, and since Bastien is more powerful than the other members (other than Jessica), there’s bond to be jealousy amongst the group, much like how the Black Snake leader betrayed Jessica and Bastien, because they are more righteous and powerful and they are jealous of their powers, which is why he has to get rid of them 😭

With Fennesz, he has been saying he is a crybaby even when he was young, and even now too, so him having to wipe away the tears, because he wish to gain the courage to stay by arujisama’s side, and also he wishes to wipe away Arujisama’s tears as well.

For Lono, the reason for that line “If I could be by your side” makes me think of the first episode where he and Berrien both said they’ll put their lives on the line just to protect Arujisama, it makes me think that Lono has been prepared that he would lose his life at any time and they would do whatever it takes just to be by Arujisama’s side.

With Lucas, since his past has been criticized by his doctor peers (because of his age and the doctors also felt like Lucas was looking down on them), and Lucas also has been hiding his feelings with a smile and he knows how to deal with the nobles with a formula, no one has seen Lucas’ true self, and Lucas would crave for someone to see him for who he truly is and still praise him from his heart.

For Miyaji, even though I’m still confused by his line, I think since Miyaji calls himself an empty shell of a human being, and also the promises he give to save others no matter what became empty promises if he wasn’t able to save them, so he would think even if the words Arujisama says don’t mean a thing (emptiness) even that will save them, or maybe Arujisama’s whisper will fill their empty hearts.

And with Berrien, “no one is truly alone”, really tells us how Berrien’s compassion where he will be there for you when you think you’re all by yourself dealing with difficult things, but he’ll still be there to accompany you, and just like how he was initially alone, but was brought to the orphanage and raised by Goethe, and afterwards, demonized Beren is still there for him to accompany him.

In the chorus, the thorny flower that was pierced in the chest reminds me of Ammon, and since when something is pierced through, you cannot force it to be out else you’ll bleed, and the despair they all face is something that’s aching their heart, and it’s difficult for them to reveal their past, as it was something that made them devil butlers.

But since “The devil’s smile will obliterate it” made me think if it was the devil butlers’ smile to heal Arujisama, or was it really the demons themselves who gave them a second chance to have the power to fight, to put their despair away in their heart to make them strong.

“If this moment is truly real” is where Arujisama constantly questions themselves at the beginning, because it all feels like a dream being in a different world.

“Please leave your whipped, battered body with me” also makes me think of Ammon 😭 but I’m pretty sure this is saying how Arujisama has been crushed by stress in their own world, and the butlers want to heal you.

But the whipped part really reminds me of Ammon esp in Episode one where he punished himself with the whip, maybe it also meant that the constant punishing you received or you gave yourself (beat yourself down)

“Even if this heart is going to break, even if this heart is going to rot away, your smile will surely revive it.” Really shows during events, the butlers would do whatever it takes for Arujisama just to see your smile, and whenever they got a reward from the nobles, the first thing they thought of is you, and you are the one who kept them going.

愛されることを許して

This line really had different meanings and the meaning I went with is “please allow yourself to be loved”

But at the same time it could have meant,

“Allowed me to be loved”

So it is a mutual feeling where the butlers wish that you could love yourself more, and they love you, at the same time the butlers also wish to receive the love from you as well. Please allow me to love you.

For Ammon’s line, “Softly whispering to the back of the Betrayed” made me think of how he was so untrusting in the beginning because he also said people would show the side you want to show others but would hide when you’re all by yourself, makes me wonder if he has been betrayed in the past 😭 (and the back motif with Ammon 🥺)

With Boschi, “I spun a lie everyday, until I met you.” really concretes on his backstory in episode 4, where he would need to hide his true identity, and he would hide his wounds and pain from aruji as well, and he would act like everything’s alright but he has carried so much on his back as well, and it was until Arujisama, he has come clean about everything.

For Lato, music to him was something that happened after he met with Miyaji, and before he had met Arujisama, he has had ideations where he wishes to fly freely in the air (which meant death) and he wasn’t afraid of death, and esp with episode 3, his hope has been crushed by his foster mother ever since he made his way out of the experiment prison and his meaning for life has been battered, and he would not care if he gets wounds and his purpose was to crush angels.

With Flure, “let me hear you drown it out” most likely means that he wishes for Lato to continue living, and to continue to have hope, and not let that music win in his mind.

Flure really is the contrast to Lato consider in episode one ||he was the one who was afraid of death and being consumed.

With Lamli, he cries for someone to love him for who he is, to stay with him, and when he met Arujisama, finally it was you who would accept him for who he is and stay by his side.
