reblog to be aka "the scallywaggler"
then give the next reblogger an ice cool aka
I was reading about the Divine Nine (black fraternities and sororities.) The first Black sorority, the AKAs, wanted to participate in Women’s Suffrage March but were told they would have to march in the back :/ The leadership pretty much said F*k that and choose not to march. But a group of AKAs wanted to march. I guess to represent Black women deserving the right to vote too. That group split from the AKAs and became the second black sorority, the Deltas. So, who was right in the end? Did their participation have any impact on Women’s Suffrage? I know hindsight is always 20/20. I probably would have agreed with AKA leadership since the movement wasn’t intersectional and wanted to continue to oppress Black people (men & women) while getting rights for White women. Though I’m applying 21st century logic to a early 20th century situation. I know the idea of incremental change was huge until the 1960s. What do you all think?

Awesome lineart of the cover for National Anthem #6
From Leo Romero’s instagram
My reading of this is that the background cuttings are the raw material of Mike’s fantasy world, though that doesn’t really explain why his ‘normal’ world began to dissolve again later on.
