Saheeh al-Jaami' [5815], authenticated by al-Albaanee

From the advice of our Shaykh Muqbil ibn Hadee Al Wadiee who said to his sons and students of knowledge:

"How easy is it to memorize mere words like so and so is a hizbi and so and so is a spy. He then takes these words from this sitting to that sitting and he spreads it.

What I want from you is that you start off by:

1. Memorizing the Quraan

2. Memorize what you can of the hadith of the prophet Muhammad salalahu alayhi wa salaam.

3. The same holds true about learning the arabic language.

If you busied yourself with the memorization of the Quran and getting/acquiring beneficial knowledge, then you will find that you don't have any extra time for this type of kalaam (words)"

2703 صحيح مسلم كتاب الذكر والدعاء والتوبة والاستغفار باب استحباب الاستغفار والاستكثار منه

Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever repents before the sun rises from the west, then Allah will forgive him.”

‎لاَ يَفْرَكْ مُؤْمِنٌ مُؤْمِنَةً إِنْ كَرِهَ مِنْهَا خُلُقًا رَضِيَ مِنْهَا آخَرَ

A believing man shouldn’t hate a believing woman; if he dislikes one of her characteristics, he’ll be pleased with another.

Shaikh Ibn ‘Uthaimeen commented:

His wife, his sister, and his mother. However the intent here is his wife…

‎“Enough as a punishment for sins is that it prevents you from worshipping Allāh,

‎even if you wanted to.”

Sheikh Muhammad bin Saleh al ‘Uthaymeen mentioned:

It is incumbent upon the student of knowledge to act upon his knowledge. This includes belief, worship, manners, character and dealings with others. This is the fruit and result of knowledge. The carrier of knowledge is similar to the carrier of a weapon. This weapon could either defend him or harm him. It is because of this that the Prophet (may the Peace and Blessings of Allah be upon him) said:

وَالْقُرْآنُ حُجَّةٌ لَكَ أَوْ عَلَيْكَ

The Quran is a proof for you or against you. (Sahih Muslim)

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah [‫رضى الله عنه‬] that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: “Do not single out the night of Friday for qiyaam al-layl, and do not single out the day of Friday for fasting, unless that is part of the habitual fasting of any one of you.”

(Narrated by Muslim, 1144).

Al-San’aani (رحمه الله) said in Subul al-Salaam: This hadeeth indicates that it is haraam to single out the night of Friday for worship or reading Qur’aan that is not one’s regular custom, apart from that which is indicated in the texts, such as reading Soorat al-Kahf.

Al-Nawawi (رحمه الله) said: This hadeeth clearly states that it is forbidden to single out the night of Friday for prayer or the day of Friday for fasting. It is agreed (among the scholars) that this is makrooh.
