Adrien sighed for the tenth time that day and he had only had coffee an hour ago. It was obvious to him that things were still tense between Mari and Damian, since the announcement, last week. He never meant to get between them. He knew he had to fix this.
"Damian, do you think we can talk?" he questioned, hesitantly.
"I believe we should." Damian admitted and let Adrien lead the way back to his room.
"I have to ask," Adrien expressed, concerned, "are you still upset about the name?"
"Yes. I didn't want her to take anything away from you during this experience. You should have been the one to come up with the name. This is your child, Adrien, not ours. You are experiencing all of this for the first time and you deserve to." Damian stated, taking a deep breath.
"Honestly, Damian, I don't mind." the soon-to-be father stated, "Mari did tell me that you would be upset with her. She told me that you wanted me to choose the name."
Damian remained silent.
"I had been trying to find a name and it just turned out that Mari had the perfect name already picked out. Don't be mad at her, Damian. Everything she said at dinner is true." Adrien admitted, "I wanted her opinion on the nursery. I forgot she was asleep and called her, but when she never responded, I got scared. I remembered you put her to bed and went to she if she was still asleep. She wasn't there and I started to panic because you were at work."
"I looked around the house and went to the gardens." Adrien continued, "She was resting against a tree with Titus. Titus never got up or barked, as I got closer. Mari was just sitting there rubbing her belly and talking, wondering what she would look like. I heard her say 'Emma' and I told her I liked it. She immediately began to panic. She did try to persuade me to pick a different name."
Damian sighed in response.
"I am pleased that Titus was with her. I'm…..disappointed he didn't alert her to your presence, even if he is accustomed to you, but I can see that it is not her fault. Did you decided on a paint color?" he asked.
"Eventually. I never got the chance to ask her about colors. She seemed really upset so I let her relax with Titus. I ended up looking at the pictures for another hour or so, before I chose a pale pink for the walls and decided that white furniture would be best." Adrien decided.
"Paint first; it'll be harder to maneuver the furniture once it's been built." the father of two, pointed out.
Adrien nodded before speaking, "You should talk to Mari."
Damian raised his brow.
"The others may not see it, but I can tell she's upset and your stand on the name is taking a toll on her. She doesn't hide it well, especially right now, and I can only guess it's because you've been upset with her." Adrien reach out and placed his hand on Damian's knee, "I don't want to tell you how to be a husband; I'm just concerned, as her friend."
Damian stood up and headed towards the door. He stopped as he opened the door.
"You're getting there, Agreste." he smiled and left in search of his wife, leaving Adrien confused.
Damian looked around for Marinette to apologize, only to find her in the kitchen with their daughters, eating ice cream.
"Ice cream for lunch?" he questioned.
"Mommy's idea." They said, pointing the blame.
Marinette just put another spoonful of strawberry cheesecake swirl in her mouth.
"I see." Damian spoke, "Well, let's put that away for now. We can save the rest for dessert, after dinner. I need some help making some sandwiches." taking the ice cream away from their daughters.
"I want to help." Amaya cried.
"Me too!" Jun shouted.
"How about you both help me and we'll have a picnic in the garden?" Damian offered.
"I'll get the blanket!" Amaya claimed, running away.
"I'll get the bread!" Jun exclaimed, going towards the pantry.
With them distracted, he moved to his wife's side, as shoves another spoonful of ice cream in her mouth. Damian leaned over and placed a kiss on her head, making her freeze.
"I apologize, Habibiti; I've been unfair to you." Damian spoke.
Marinette lowered the spoon and turned to look at him. Damian immediately felt his heart clench, seeing the tears in his wife's eyes. He always hated it when she cried. He wanted to make those that harmed her pay and it hurt worse then anything to know that it was him that caused them. Marinette leaned into him, acknowledging his apology.
"Why don’t you take Titus and wait outside. The girls and I can prepare the food." he suggested.
Marinette nodded, leaving the tub of ice cream on the counter, and left in search of the guard dog.
Adrien looked out the window to see Marinette and Titus, laying by the same tree.
'Aw, man. I hoped talking with Damian would have solved everything. Maybe he hasn't talked to her yet?'
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted Damian walking towards Mari with a basket and a blanket. He smiled.
'Looks like a date.'
He turned to head back to his room when he heard his name being called.
"Huh?" he looked around in confusion.
"Uncle Adrien!" Amaya and Jun shouted.
"Yes?" Adrien asked his nieces.
The girls grabbed his hands and tugged him slightly.
"Come on!" Jun cried, "We're having a picnic!"
"Oh, but I'm sure it's for your family only." Adrien replied, gently turning them down.
"Daddy said you're family, too." Amaya smiled.
Adrien smiled as he let the girls lead him to the tree. The blanket was already laid out. Titus was sprawled out on an edge. Marinette and Damian were sitting next to each other, as if nothing had ever happened.
"We helped Daddy make lunch today." Amaya explained.
"You did?" Adrien questioned, as if it was the most interesting thing in the world.
"Yeah!" Jun shouted.
"They aren't pulling you away from anything important?" Marinette asked.
"No." Adrien spoke, shaking his head, "I was just ordering paint for the nursery."
"What color did you decide on?" She questioned.
"A pale pink. Blush; I think?" the soon-to-be father said, "I'm starting to rethink if I should get white furniture or a dark wood."
The girls began to show Adrien which food they helped make and get out of the fridge. Adrien took a bite of each of them, complimenting them as he did.
"Adrien seems like he'll make a great father." Mari giggled, leaning into her husband's arms.
"He does, Angel." Damian commented.

Sorry for the giant delay!!!! I have been having issues with my son's school cuz of his behavior. I just learned from 2 people that what they have been doing, isn't what they should have done. I have been feeling so much weight on my shoulders. Nervous about every time my phone rings. I can tell they don't want to deal with him. He's heard the office people talk about trying to get him homeschooled. I feel constantly tired and by the time I drop him off, do errands, clean, I have to pick him up early! I hoping these 2 people help me and show me that they school was wrong. I hate this school, the principal, but...it's not like I can take him anywhere else. I never expected the book to go this long; it was suppose to be....13 chapters? I had to rewrite some of it and change details cuz they no longer made sense. I'll be posting 11 chapters to end the story tomorrow! I hope you enjoy!
Sorry for the delay. The next one will be longer. Promise.
Lila growled as she read article after article on how excited Adrien was to be a father and how happy he was living in Gotham City. She clicked on his latest interview.
Q: How is it like living with the Waynes?
A: Well, I've known Marinette and the Waynes for years. I've come over for the holidays. Living with them isn't that difficult. As Damian said before, I'm 'Uncle Adrien' to their kids.
Q: Have you found out the gender yet?
A: We found out recently, but I won't be revealing it. I decided to do a press release once my child is born. That is when you will get to know the gender and name.
Q: Speaking of names, have you picked out a name?
A: I have. My friend joked that the name would be the hardest to figure out, but I'm still figuring out what furniture to pick out for the nursery.
Q: How have you been helping Marinette Wayne?
A: Marinette is a strong person. I don't really need to help her with anything. I do offer, but she also has her husband and a strong support system from her family here in Gotham. Usually, it's me entertaining the girls while Mari works and they're off from school, but I count it as training. I get a peek at what life will be like with kids. It's especially helpful since I'm an only child. I get to see sibling bonds and rivalries up close.
Q: Have you had any arguments about raising the child?
A: No. The only argument we've had was me wanting to bubble wrap Mari until my child was born. Damian stepped in as mediator and reminded me that she has been pregnant before. He reminded her that she was a bit like me when she was first pregnant and parenting is new to me. These aren't first for her, but they are to me. Marinette is carrying my child, but has agreed that I'm raising the child. She has told me that if I need help, she will be there to help. Both Damian and Mari have given me advice about when the child is born and what I will be needing.
Q: Does that bother you at all?
A: Not at all. I'm grateful for their input. They know what to do and I've read so many books and online forums that contradict themselves. What I've learned is that every child is different and some things may work and some may not and that is okay. I need to find out what works for my child when that time comes.
Q: Does it feel strange to you that your child is safe with Damian when they sleep?
A: Marinette is my best friend, not my wife! She is helping me by carrying my child. I have no intention of coming between their marriage!
Q: Are you aware that some women become hormonal and lustful during pregnancy?
A: I have read the books and I am aware. I'm glad Damian can help in that department. Damian is a great Co-Dad.
Q: Do you think that it will be hard to be a single father?
A: I don't think of myself as a single father. I have Marinette and the Waynes to help me.
Lila closed out the tab and huffed. From the article, it sounded like he was making plans to stay in Gotham for a very long time. She opened up another tab and typed in Gotham City, USA. From the pictures it looked drabby and dark; it was no place for a model, like her. Crime was high and it seemed like people only stayed because the cost of living there was so low. A smile began to spread across her face. She would have to plan this carefully. She would have to up her charms at work if she wanted more tips. It wouldn't be hard to move to Gotham, maybe start over and win him over. It wouldn't be hard to lay low for awhile.

Adrien had left Marinette outside with Titus too relax. She seemed a bit wound up and decided it was best to let her relax. He could ask her about the nursery after dinner.
"Adrien? Is everything alright?" Gabriel questioned.
"Everything's fine." Adrien answered, "We had the ultrasound today."
"You did?" His father asked.
"I'm going to be the proud father of a little girl." Adrien smiled into the receiver.
"Really?" Gabriel replied.
"Yep. We already have a name picked out." Adrien stated.
"You do?" Gabriel questioned, "So soon? How long have you had it picked out?"
"Well, I already had the middle name picked out. We went fifty-fifty on the name." the new father admitted.
"She named your child?" Gabriel questioned, a bit upset.
'I never thought Mrs. Wayne would take to naming the child.'
"I think the name is beautiful." Adrien stated, hoping not to explain how he had to fight to keep the name.
"What is my granddaughter's name?" Gabriel asked.
"Emma Lily Agreste." Adrien answered.
'Emma….Lily…..Agreste.'
"She's named after Mom." Adrien continued, over his father's silence.
"Sounds….lovely." his father replied, not noticing his voice break.
"We won't be telling the media about her gender until after she's born. Only family will know her name, beforehand." Adrien spoke.
"Mr. Agreste, you have an appointment in ten minutes." Adrien heard Natalie speak.
"I-" his father began.
"It's okay, Father." Adrien interrupted, "I'm just glad we had the chance to talk. I love you."
"I love you too, Son." Gabriel spoke, before hanging up.
Adrien sighed as he placed his phone down. He hadn't expected his father to respond so strongly to his daughter's name. It sounded like his father had been trying not to cry and Natalie had given him a way out. She had always been good with those. He was sure his father would spoil her.
"Hey, Nino." Adrien spoke.
"Hey, Man." Nino replied, "So?"
"I'm having a little princess!" the young Agreste announced.
"A girl?" Nino shouted.
"Yep." the new father smiled.
"Congrats, Dude!" Nino spoke, excitedly, "You called your dad first, right?"
"Just got off the phone with him." Adrien declared.
"Now, the hard part." Nino stated.
"What?" the soon-to-be father asked.
"Names!" Nino cried out.
"Oh! The names are already locked in." Adrien chuckled, "The hard part is the nursery."
"Really?" his friend questioned.
"There's too many choices in ten photographs." the Agreste heir whined.
"See! This is why we don't eat out." Nino declared, "You want everything and can only choose a couple of things."
"How was I suppose to know that McDonalds would get mad at me for ordering one of everything!" Adrien shouted back.
Nino laughed, "That was a great day."
"My stomach didn't think so the next day." Adrien groaned.
"How's Mari?" the DJ questioned.
"Relaxing with her guard dog." Adrien stated.
"Damian?" Nino asked.
"No; Titus." Adrien laughed, "Damian's at work. Titus is just as effective."
Nino laughed along with his best friend.
"How was your day?" asked Dick.
"Today was the ultrasound!" Adrien cried.
"Well?" suggested Jason.
"Did you find out or not?" questioned Tim.
"I'm having a girl!" the Agreste heir shouted, making the girl cry out in joy and the boys groan.
Marinette just giggled, "Imagine how hard it was for Barb, Steph, Cass and Selina. We're just….evening the playing field."
"Can you do that?" asked Jason, confused.
"Have you thought about any names?" asked Selina.
Out of the corner of his eye, Damian noticed his wife tense.
"Habibiti, you didn't." Damian spoke, putting his fork down.
"I didn't mean to. I thought I was by myself. He snuck up on me and Titus didn't warn me!" Marinette exclaimed.
Damian sighed in defeat.
"What happened?" asked Tim.
"I don't know." replied Dick.
"We already picked out a name." Adrien spoke, "I already had a middle name prepared. I had trouble with the first name and Marinette already had a name picked out."
Damian glared at his wife.
"I already said I didn't know he was there! I was just calling her a name, in private, until he chose one. I immediately would have changed the name!" Marinette explained.
"What's her name?" Bruce questioned.
"Emma Lily Agreste, after my mother and her favorite flower." Adrien explained, "I didn't want to give her my mother's name. I was looking at other names, similar to her. Emma just sounded fitting. Honestly, I'm glad she will gain a name from Marinette. I'm not upset, at all, Damian."
Damian nodded his head and continued to eat his dinner. Marinette remained silent and continued to eat hers. Adrien smiled through all the congratulations and thanked them.
'Aw man. I had hoped the name wouldn't have caused such a problem. Maybe she was right and I should have chosen another name.'

"Are you sure you don't want to come, Damian?" Marinette questioned.
"No. This time is for you and Adrien." Damian explained, "It's his child and you both should be the first to know."
"If you're sure." Mari mumbled.
"I am." he spoke, kissing her head, "He's never been to these so it'll be special. He'll see and hear them for the first time. I had those moments with our girls; let him have his."
Marinette hugged her husband. She hadn't thought of it that way, but he was right. This appointment would be special for Adrien and something he would remember about his child.
"Are you sure?" Adrien questioned, once Damian voiced he was staying home.
"Trust me." Damian spoke, "It'll be an experience for both of you."
Adrien didn't understand what he meant, but he nodded anyways.
Adrien looked around the clinic as they took their seats. There were seats everywhere and a tv that seemed stuck on Food Network with healthy options playing. Next to him on the table were magazines titled 'Fit Pregnancy' and 'American Baby'.
"Adrien." Marinette spoke, grabbing his arm.
"I don't think this is how I envisioned it." He spoke.
"What do you mean?" she asked.
"I don't know. Storks and stuff on the walls? Soothing colors? This feels like any other doctor's office." Adrien explained, "Have you been here before?"
"I came here, both times, for the girls." Marinette spoke, "This is a really good clinic and they know what they are doing. I agree that they could spruce up the place. They could paint the walls, but this is a place for adults, not kids."
"Marinette!" a voice called.
Mrs. Wayne stood up and turned to him.
"Come on." she spoke.
"I-I go with you?" Adrien questioned.
Marinette smiled and nodded, leading the way.
"Hello, Mr. Agreste." the nurse spoke.
"H-Hi." he answered.
"Are you excited about today?" she asked.
"I brought tissues for him." Marinette teased.
"Hey!" Adrien teased back, making them laugh.
"Okay, Marinette, you know the drill. Up on the bed and lift your shirt up a bit." the nurse continued.
Adrien quickly turned away.
"Adrien, it's fine. I'm just exposing my stomach." Marinette declared.
"Oh." he whispered, blushing at his nervousness.
Adrien turned around and got a look at her bulging belly.
"You okay?" Mari questioned, following his gaze to her stomach, "Do you want to touch?"
"Can I?" he asked.
Adrien hadn't wanted to push any boundaries when it came to the pregnancy. He had been too scared to ask, especially around Damian. Marinette smiled and guided his hand to the top of her exposed stomach.
"It feels a bit hard." he spoke, out loud.
Suddenly, he heard a light thumping.
"What's that?" he asked looking around.
The nurse smiled, "That's the baby's heartbeat."
Adrien looked at his hand, still gently resting on Marinette's stomach, and up to her face. Marinette just smiled as he broke out into a smile.
"Hi, Baby." Adrien whispered, leaning towards her stomach.
"Everything sounds good." the nurse stated, taking away the sonogram tool, "Would you like to know the gender?"
"Adrien, it's up to you." Mari spoke, "If you'd rather wait-"
"No! I-I wanna know!" he answered.
The nurse brought another tool over and asked him to step back.
"Here we see their head, their arms." she spoke, pointing out feature to the parents.
Adrien was speechless. There was his child.
"It's a girl." the nurse stated.
Adrien turned towards Marinette, "Thank you, Mari, for taking care of my daughter."
"I'm glad I could help, Adrien." Marinette answered.
On the way back, Adrien began to excitedly talk about the nursery ideas. He held the envelope containing the sonogram photos in his lap.
"I can finally choose on a color for the walls! I can pick a theme now and pick the furniture!" he began to rant, "I can't wait to dress her up. She will never model or get into fashion-"
"Hey!" Marinette shouted through her yawn.
"What?" Adrien asked.
"What if she likes that stuff? I mean designing is in her blood from your father and me." she countered.
Adrien wasn't sure what to think.
"Then, it'll be okay, but I won't force her into any hobbies she doesn't like." Adrien replied, "She can go horse back riding or maybe, mixed martial arts. She could be a chef!"
Marinette closed her eyes as Adrien began to picture his daughter becoming someone great. When they reached Wayne Manor, it was only then that Adrien realized Marinette had fallen asleep on him.
'I guess she was tired. The appointment must have drained her.'
Damian chuckled as he picked Marinette up out of the car.
"I'm going to take her to our room. I'll return shortly." he stated, before making his way up the stairs.
'I guess it's Dad Talk time.'
"Damian, I want to work on the nursery. Is there anything I absolutely need?" Adrien questioned, as they drank some coffee.
"Diapers. Wipes. Bottles. Wipes. A baby tub." Damian began to list off, "Car seat. Stroller. Crib. You can worry about toys later. They won't be able to play with them at first. You can get them a mat later for 'tummy time'. We can worry about educational toys and fences later."
"Once they start walking, it's a whole new experience. Especially with stairs." Damian declared.
"Noted." Adrien spoke, as Damian's phone chimes.
"I have to head to the office." the Wayne heir stated.
"It's fine. Head to work. I'm just gonna.....plan everything out for the nursery and make a list." the new father replied.
Damian nodded his head and left the room.
Adrien groaned as he looked over the pictures of the nursery themes again. He had immediately deleted the boy's folder and began to look through the ten pictures to pick for the nursery. He was starting to get overwhelmed with all the furniture choices and paint colors again.
"Please, Princess, " He groaned, "never get into fashion. Papa will never understand it."
'I need help.'
Adrien pulled out his phone and dialed Marinette's number. The Wayne Manor was too big to go looking for her. He'd get lost. There was no answer so he left her a voicemail. No problem. She'd call him back and help him. After thirty minutes had passed and no call, he was starting to worry.
'I'll just call Damian and- Wait! Damian left to work. Shit! Where's Marinette and why isn't she answering her phone. Think, Agreste! Think! When we got back, Damian took her to their room to sleep. Maybe she's still asleep. I better go check.'
Adrien hurried to Marinette and Damian's room and knocked on the door
"Marinette?" Adrien called out, "I'm coming in, okay?
Adrien closed his eyes and twisted the door knob.
"Mari?" he called again, "My eyes are closed. Mari?"
Adrien opened an eye and saw the bed was empty.
'Where is she? I have to find her. Damian's at work so she's my responsibility, right?'
He quickly ran from the room and hurried downstairs.
Adrien sighed in relief as he found Marinette in the garden, relaxing with Titus.
'Good Dog.'
Adrien began walking towards Marinette to ask for help with the room, like he had planned. He smiled as he noticed her soft face, rubbing her belly.
"I'm so happy to be carrying another strong and wonderful little girl." Marinette rambled, with a smile, "I wonder who you will look like. Will you have blue or green eyes? Will you have dark hair or light hair? I wonder if you'll be a mini version of me or your father. You could be a mix."
Adrien chuckled as he got closer to her. He had missed her old rambles.
"Little Emma Agreste." Marinette whispered.
Adrien froze at the name.
"Emma Agreste." He voiced, "I like it."
Marinette quickly turned to face him. She looked scared.
"I didn't mean to-" she began to argue.
Adrien smiled and took a seat next to her, under the tree.
"You know, I could never figure out the right name." Adrien spoke.
"Really?" she whispered.
"Yeah." he smiled, "I looked through maybe five books and through the internet, but nothing popped out for me, other then Lily."
"Lily sounds pretty." Marinette said.
"Yeah, but I wanted it as a middle name." he expressed, "I love it."
"Really?" she questioned, hesitantly.
"Like my mother, right?" Adrien asked.
Marinette slowly nodded. Adrien brought Marinette into his arms and kissed her forehead.
"Then it's settled: Emma Lily Agreste." he smiled.
"No! Adrien, she is your child and you should name her!" Marinette began to panic.
"She's our daughter and I wanted to name her after my mother anyways. Lilies were her favorite flower. I think her name is perfect. Emma after her grandmother and lilies after her grandmother's favorite flower." he continued.
"But-" she pressed.
"She is our child and we came up with the name, together. I think she will love it." The Agreste heir spoke.
Marinette moved out of his arms and frowned.
"What?" he questioned.
"Damian's gonna be so upset that I named the baby." Marinette began to sniffle.
Adrien chuckled, "I'm sure he won't be."
"He wanted me to let you figure out the names!" Mari cried, making Titus whine, "Sorry, Boy."
"Well......why call her Emma then?" he asked.
Marinette groaned, "When I was thirteen, I had a crush on you. I imagined we would have two sons and a daughter; her name was Emma."
Adrien felt his cheeks heat up. He had never imagined his best friend felt that way. He wasn't exactly sure what to say.
"I figured it would be something I could call her, in the mean time, until you came up with a name. I never meant for you to hear me or to keep the name." she continued.
"I'm glad I did." Adrien spoke, scooted closer, "I kept trying to do a play off my mother's name: Elizabeth, Liza, Emily, Isabel, Elsa. Emma fits perfectly."

"I spoke with Alya the other day." Nino confessed, "She got fired over that article and knows Lila's liar now."
"Okay. If you want to talk or get back with her, that's all up to you. I don't know how I feel about her right now. I mean, yeah, it sucks that she lost her job, but they spread news we weren't ready to disclose." the soon-to-be father spoke, "Do what you want."
"Alya is looking back at all the lies that Lila told us. She feel bad. She asked about Mari." Nino explained.
"What did she ask?" Adrien questioned.
He may not be her husband, but he was still protective of his best friend.
"She asked if I went to Marinette's wedding; that's it. I think she feels like she doesn't deserve to know anything else. She didn't even ask about your child." Nino replied.
"I can let Mari know, later, but it's up to her to reach out. Damian doesn't want her stressing out and neither do I." he sighed in response.
"How does it feel, Man? To know you'll be a dad in like five months?" Nino asked, changing the subject.
"Unreal." Adrien spoke, "Damian's a great Co-Dad and he's already gone through all of this so if either of us get out of hand, he sits us down and we talk about it. Mari's emotional so he's trying to take that into consideration. I already got her up a wall once already and made her cry."
"What did you do?" the DJ questioned.
"Mostly whatever the book said, but Damian made me see I was smothering her and that I have to realize that she's done this before, but she also needs to realize I haven't. It was a very weird conversation. I'm experiencing all these 'firsts', but she's not. They are a 'first' for her with this child, but not overall. I mean, this is technically her third child!" Adrien explained.
"So, just miscommunication?" Nino asked, hesitantly.
"Yeah and then I had to ask her for help with the nursery." he whined.
"What do you mean?" his friend asked.
"There are like an infinite amount of baby themes for a nursery; colors and everything! It was too much and I had to call Mari to help me. I think I had over fifty tabs popped open." Adrien confessed, making his friend laugh.
"How did Mari help?" he asked.
"She helped me organize everything. She had me save the pictures to my laptop and then make folders to sort it by gender and gender neutral. Then, she had me keep my top five out of those. I think I was seeing pixels by the time we were done. I don't know how she or Father does it. I think I had a 3AM talk with Tim." Adrien stated.
"How did that go?" Nino questioned.
"I don't know." the young Agreste confessed.
"You don't know?" Nino asked, confused.
"Mari has said that she's spoken with Tim before at weird times of the night, but later she'll mention something she said and he'll have no recollection so she just stopped bringing stuff up. There is no way I can ask if that happened or not." Adrien responded and Nino's laughter rang from his phone, "I don't even really remember what we talked about. I just remember sitting there and drinking something. Then, I woke up in my bed."
Nino laughed harder.
"So are you excited to learn about the baby?" Nino asked.
"Yes! We have an appointment at 3PM today!" Adrien exclaimed.
"Are you gonna make it a surprise?" the DJ questioned.
"I'll let it be a surprise to the press, but we'll make sure to tell people we're close to. I'll call you later, but I'm calling my father first." the soon-to-be father expressed.
"No prob." Nino stated, "Gramps takes priority."
Adrien laughed as he ended the call.

Alya had gone to her parents' and gotten her old cameras, equipment, and phones. She needed to know the truth.
She set everything up and began to download everything into her computer at home. She found an unused notebook with the stuff she had brought home after she was fired and set it next to her. Alya quickly pulled out a sharpie and wrote 'Lila Rossi' across the cover.
She found her oldest recording from when Lila had first transferred in and began to write every word down. Alya noted down the date, from which equipment it was found on, and it's new file name. Once it was written, she brought up Google and set to work on finding her proof.
As she set to work, she quickly came to realize there wasn't much proof, aside from the blog she had created in the past. She copied down every celebrity name and how she knew them. She could see the change in her work. She would post interesting article about things her friends had done and information about it to spread the news. She had done a piece on the environment because it had meant so much to Ivan and Mylene. She had even done one with Nino and Alix about music and the history behind it. After she met Lila, it was slowly filled up with things she had told her without any of the information. There was no proof like before; just post after post.
Marinette had been right. She had asked her if she had found proof. Mari had told her she was changing and she needed to stop or she'd ruin herself. Back then she couldn't understand what she had meant. She thought Marinette was jealous of how much time Lila spent with Adrien and petty of how successful her new friend was. All she did, was yell at Marinette to fact check herself and see how blind she was to someone who was doing great things. She shouldn't have done that; she was the one who dreamed of being a reporter, not Marinette.
It wasn't that long after that they decided their friendship was over. She never talked to Marinette again.
Alya took her glasses off and set them on the desk, before rubbing her eyes.
'How long have I been sitting here looking at all this?' she wondered, as she closed her eyes and saw the screen etched into her retinas.
Alya looked off to the side and saw her notebook was quickly filling up with lies and notes. All the stories Marinette had claimed were lies were being shoved back into her face and it hurt to face the truth.
'I need some air.' Alya decided.
She quickly saved her work, got up, stretched and decided to grab a bite while she was out.
As she walked around Paris, she saw pictures of Adrien fading and some new ones of Juleka being posted. As she turned the corner to her favorite café, she bumped into a broad chest.
"Oh, I'm sorry." Alys spoke, "I wasn't paying attention to where I was going."
She looked up to apologize further and recognized his eyes.
'Nino!'
He quickly turned and went back the direction he had came from.
"Nino!" she shouted, chasing after him, "Wait!"
'Why would he listen to me? I broke up with him because Lila told me she saw him with another woman?'
"Please!" Alya cried out and he slowed down to a stop, "Did you know?"
"Alya." Nino sighed, "If you're trying to get me for-"
"Did you know Lila was a liar?" she questioned.
That's not the question he had been expecting.
"I wasn't sure. She kept flaking on me for gigs and after awhile I realized I was stand still. So I kept booking myself. When she told me of one she could get me into or that she would introduce me to someone, I didn't get my hopes up. I talked with Adrien and Marinette and they both knew. Mari said she tried to tell you and then I remembered how we treated her in college. It made sense that she wouldn't help us later. I apologized." Nino stated.
He watched her visibly sag in defeat.
"Lila as your source wasn't she?" he asked.
She only nodded in confirmation and he sighed.
"Come on. I'll treat you to lunch. You probably need to vent." Nino offered.
"That would be nice." Alya smiled.
"I was fired for that 'exclusive'." Alya spoke, as they sat down, "I want to expose Lila so no one falls for her lies again."
"What are you going to do?" asked Nino, as he looked at the menu.
"I pulled out my old equipment. I have all her old interviews, still. I feel so fake. I was never meant to be a journalist. I was such a bad friend to Mari. I told her to fact check about Lila's accomplishments. Almost twenty years later and I'm doing what I should have done in the first place, fact checking her stories." Alya sighed.
"So what, you'll go to the papers with this?" he asked, as their small lunch arrived.
"I want to, but I feel like they wouldn't trust me, now." she groaned, "Do you still talk with them?"
"Yeah. After I apologized, we got closer." Nino admitted.
"Did you go to the wedding?" she questioned.
Nino nodded and saw Alya hold her sob back. Nino could see how hard this was for her to take in. In college ,he was sure that Alya and Mari would be inseparable, but Lila came between that. She was probably realizing the same thing.
"I should get going. Thank you for lunch." Alya said, as she stood up.
"Alya." Nino called out.
Alya looked towards him and saw a napkin, being shoved at her.
"My number, in case you need to talk." Nino offered.
Alya took the napkin and smiled.
"Thanks, Nino." she said as she headed home.

"Welcome to the Agreste Manor, Master Adrien." announced Alfred.
"Adrien is just fine, Alfred." Adrien smiled.
"I could have picked you up at the airport." Alfred stated, taking his suitcase.
"It was no problem, Alfred." Adrien replied.
"Adrien!" Marinette cried from the banister.
"Uncle Adrien!" he heard voices cry out in excitement, before being bombarded with hugs.
"Hey! Hey!" he shouted, "It's great to see all of you, too."
"And as happy as he is to see you, I'm sure 'Uncle Adrien' would like to rest and finish setting up his room." Damian spoke, announcing himself to the room.
"Yes, Daddy." their girls pouted.
"I think I saw Jason around back." he smirked.
"YAY!" they cried out before taking off for the garden.
"Welcome to Wayne Manor, Agreste." Damian spoke, extending his hand to shake.
"Thanks for the invite, Damian." Adrien answered, shaking his hand, "This is more then I ever thought you both would do for me."
"You're our friend, Adrien. We'll do anything we can to help." Marinette smiled.
"Thanks, Mari." he said.
Only a week had passed before Marinette was beginning to second guess having Adrien constantly around the manor. If he wasn't constantly hovering around her, he was on his phone double checking what she was allowed to do. He was acting like this was her first time! As if there wasn't two reminders running around calling him 'Uncle' and trying to get them to go play with them in the garden.
Any time she sat down, he immediately would elevate her feet with a cushion. He constantly took pictures of what she was eating and asking what was in it, even though there was a big list on the fridge of what she couldn't eat. He made it his mission to keep Tim away from her at all cost, fearing he would give into her caffeine addiction once more.
He almost had a heart attack when he saw her on her cardio bike. He even showed her an article saying she shouldn't be on it. Marinette immediately turned around and showed him one that said as long as it was stationary, she was fine. Yes it would be harder to use when she got bigger, but she would adjust her time on it and eventually stop using it all together once she got closer to her due date.
"Just stop already!" Marinette screamed, "It feels like you're trying to put me in a bubble!"
Adrien took a step back in shock.
Damian quickly rushed to his wife's side and led her out of the room, rubbing soothing circles on her lower back.
Adrien trudged up to his room and laid on his bed.
'Am I a bad parent, already? What am I doing wrong?' he wondered, 'I know Mari's my friend, but am I acting like a bad parent? Would I make the person I end up with this crazy? Would I be a bad husband? I made her feel trapped. Maybe I am just like Father.'
He wasn't sure how long he had been staring at the ceiling, before there was a knock on his door.
Adrien sighed, rolled over and slowly made his way to his door. Upon opening it, he found Damian and Marinette.
"I think we all need to talk." Damian stated, maneuvering Marinette in front of him.
Adrien stepped aside to allow them into his new room and take a seat.
"Adrien, I know this if your first child, but Marinette has gone through this twice already." Damian pointed out, "She knows what she's doing. Cravings aside, but those come and go. As long as she's not trying to eat dirt or something on the banned list, I think you should trust her."
Adrien nodded his head in understanding. Damian was right. Marinette and Damian were wonderful parents and had two daughters. They adored him and called him 'Uncle Adrien'.
"I do trust her." Adrien said, looking up to them, "That's why-That's why I agreed to this. When I complained about my father, I never expected this from both of you."
Damian simply nodded, before turning to his wife.
"Angel, you also need to understand that while you've done this before, Adrien has not. He is a sponge right now. You see him reading all the books like you did. He simply wants to be prepared and try to participate in all this. You may not be his wife, but you are still the mother of his child and he is trying to share the experience in all of this."
"I'm sorry, Adrien." Marinette whispered, looking at him, "Damian's right. I…I already went through all of this, but it's new to you and it's also your child. I need to share myself with you."
"Yeah, but he's also right. I don't have to shadow you and there are somethings that your body is going through that I can't help you with." he blushes.
"I'm sorry for yelling at you." Marinette frowned, "I never should have raised my voice to you. I should have taken you aside like this. I know my emotions are on another level right now, but that's not an excuse."
"Thanks, Mari, and I'm sorry for annoying you, too much." he smiled.
"We still have about four to five months to help you prepare." Damian spoke up, changing the subject, "How about we look into setting up the nursery?"
Adrien looked surprised by that fact.
"A nursery?" he questioned, "You don't have to do that! I sorta just thought about putting them in the room here with me!"
"Maybe when they are older, but you'll also need sleep. A nursery will allow you to get rest and serve as a place for Marinette or yourself to feed the child without any interruptions. We can have the girls stay out of the room for now and only be allowed in with our permission or our supervision." Damian stated.
"Oh! We can pick out colors!" Marinette smiled, only to be silenced when Damian put a hand on her knee.
"Let Adrien decide." He stated, "We picked out the colors for our children. Let Adrien pick for his. Also, he doesn't know the gender yet."
"True." Mari pouted, "How about we look? Maybe we can pick three colors. One for a boy, one for a girl and gender neutral."
"We can also look for cribs and stuff once I see the size of the room." Adrien commented.
"Ooh! We can pick a theme for the room. Like Jungle or Space or-"
"It's alright." Adrien said, "This is all new to me and you both have done this before. I didn't even think of a theme for the room."
"And you don't have to." Damian says, glaring at his wife, "Marinette tends to get carried away on Pinterest." resulting in a pout. "You can always select colors for each gender and maybe a gender neutral. The craziness comes after you know the gender. I can help you paint the nursery, if you want."
"I'm not allowed near the paint because of the fumes, but I can design clothes!" announced Marinette.
"You can design some of the clothes!" growled out Damian, "Let Adrien pick some out."
Adrien just chuckled at their dynamic. Marinette was really all over the place sometimes. He was glad she found someone to reel her in and Damian could come off as stoic, if not more then his father. Marinette made sure everyone saw he wasn't like that all the time.
'I hope I can find someone like that.' he thought to himself.
"Um." Adrien interrupted, "Is it okay if I look by myself for awhile?"
"Of course!" Marinette said, getting up, "Let us know if you find anything you like. Make a list of what you think the baby will need and really, it'll probably be cut in half."
"Really?" he questioned.
Damian only nodded, leading Marinette out of the room.
"Try to let Adrien do his own thing, Beloved." Damian spoke.
He glanced over, catching his wife's pouting face.
'Cute.'
"If you really want another child, we can see to that later." he whispered in her ear.
Marinette quickly turned and looked at him with a flushed face.
Damian merely smirked her way and headed back downstairs.
'My husband is trying to kill me. Curse these hormones!'
Adrien spent his day looking at themes for his child's nursery before lightly banging his head on his desk.
'There's so many options! Princesses, characters, fiction, nature, space. It never ends! This is why I'm not a designer!'
