Everything had happened so quickly and yet so profoundly, he knew the moment that he heard the click that their lives were going to change for the worst in a matter of minutes and he'd done what he thought best. Merlin despite his hard exterior and mask of indifference he often wore valued his friends more than he could ever explain verbally. He'd pushed Eggsy out of the way and pressed his own food down on the trigger knowing well what that meant for him.
His singing carried thru the jungle and soon an explosion followed, an explosion he had assumed would result in his death but he lived, horribly injured but alive he was taken to Statesman's medical bay in critical condition.
The room was glum and filled with various medical machines. Tubbing embedded into various wounds draining fluids from him, machine breathing for him, the beeping of his vitals filled the space between the ventilator's rush of air, and what was left of his legs were pressure wrapped and covered with a blanket.
Nearly two weeks had passed and still he was unconscious, only now starting to hear muffled sounds of movements.
