Welcome back peeps to another #HistoryBooksatmyJob post. I love reading books about Espionage history and Ben Macintyre @BenMacintyre1 is a master in the field. Here are six of his books that I am profiling today:

- Agent Sonya

- Napoleon of Crime
- A Spy Among Friends
- The Spy and the Traitor
These are some amazing books concerning the history of Espionage in the World War II/Postwar/Cold War era. The only exception is the Napoleon of Crime book that profiles German criminal mastermind Adam Worth who was active during the mid to late 19th century.

BiWeekly Review Roundup: June Part 1
Agent ZigZag: Ben MacIntyre - I like how this true history about a double agent working for Germany and England is written as a story. Due to the volume of first- and second-hand material about Agent ZigZag, MacIntyre is able to weave together an exciting and personal tale that reads like fiction, but is actually all true. I can’t say Agent ZigZag is a great human, but his life sure is an interesting read, full of action and danger.
The Merciless: Danielle Vega - Any book that involves an excorcism is going to be all kinds of messed up, and this one is no exception. You get into the main event pretty quickly, and after that disturbing and gory things happen. I wouldn’t say it’s the greatest book, but it definitely kept me hooked.
My Story: Cheryl Cole - I found out about Cheryl years ago after watching clips from Xfactor and thought she was so sweet and beautiful. She was my favourite judge, but I didn’t look into her career at all until last December. At that time I went into a Cheryl spiral, looking up interviews and more Xfactor clips and Girls Aloud songs and basically anything I could find that she was involved in. After reading her book I admire her for being such a strong woman. She talks about her life so openly and honestly and her voice is so down to earth. She is sensitive but tough, and I am so sad that she has gone through so many hard times. This was written in 2012, so I hope she is much more happy and fulfilled now.
Daring Greatly: Brene Brown - This book dives deeper than her first into what it means to be vulnerable and how it is a courageous practice. I found her stories and advice super helpful because it’s very applicable to me. At first I was annoyed by some repetitive statements, but then I realized repetition helps concepts stick in the mind, so this is probably purposeful to help readers learn. Amazing.
Me and Me: Alice Kuipers - A really interesting look at how one choice can change everything and impact so many people. I like the whole theme and how it plays out. Lark is flawed and makes a lot of wrong choices, but it’s not annoying in this case because there is growth to show from it.
