You are trans and you are seen π³οΈββ§οΈππ
It's kinda crazy that some people see that I call myself an intersex transfem and if they don't like what I have to say about transfeminism, they just lie and say I am not transfem. Very transfeminist of you, to strip me of my trans womanhood! /sar
I think I have said it here but I will say it again. Even though assigned gender and sex does not matter to me in terms of labels such as transfem and transmasc, I was initially raised as a boy for the first 13 or 14 years or so of my life and then became a girl. I still lived as a trans girl (and later a trans woman) up until a little under a year ago when I learned I was intersex, and switched from using she/her to it/its. Yes I am at risk for being sent to a male prison, yes I am at risk for being harassed and attacked by transmisogynists, yes I am a trans woman. Even if you disagree with my opinions, can you pretty please not make up lies about what you assume my gender is? I have had people reblog or send me anon asks where they say I am (c)afab and this is not true. I do not identify with any agab, and you assuming agabless = afab is very disgustingly intersexist.
reminder that we support terms like honeybee transfem, coffeebean transmasc, bumblebee transmasc, tea bag transneu, etc etc. we support all agabless made terms, and we also support them being used regardless on if someone is perisex or intersex. we refuse to gatekeep nuance experiences or dumb them down into who can and can't use what with surface level opinions. unless a label is specifically coined saying "intersex people only", "x culture only", "plural people only", "disabled people only" etc. we see no reason to limit a label to one group or experience
this is a psa!
PLEASE STOP CALLING PEOPLE "AFAB TRANSFEMS" AND "AMAB TRANSFEMS"!
[pt: PLEASE STOP CALLING PEOPLE "AFAB TRANSFEMS" AND "AMAB TRANSFEMS"!]
not only is this putting someones birth assignment before their identity, but it is creating a false divide in an entire identification! someone having been amab or afab does not affect their identity as transfem. birth assignment should not matter to your current identity!
if you really NEED to describe a transfem who was not assigned male at birth in a catchall term, you can use "assignment variant transfem"! they are JUST transfem, they are NOT "an afab transfem"!

"Transfem and transmasc were not coined under an AGAB context. The AGAB context was applied later. It is sad that "AGABless" and "assignment variant" versions of transfem & transmasc had to be made, because once upon a time nobody would have associated them with AFAB & AMAB."
Do you have proof of this? Can you should us their original coining where this was specified?
(The post being referenced by this anon [link])
AGAB language was first popularized in trans spaces (being stolen from intersex spaces) in the late 2000s.
Quote from the birth assignment page [link] on the intersex wiki:
"The earliest known use of AFAB and AMAB is from 2011."
The earliest recorded use of "transfem" was in 1985 on The TV-TS tapestry. Quote:
"What am I?...How about βtransvestiteβ? Maybe βtranssexualβ? Or perhaps 'transfeminine'?"
The first usage of the word "transmasc" is unclear, however The DC Area Transmasculine Society popularized its usage in 2000, but openly states that they did not coin the term, and that it existed before their organization.
Thats all that really needs to be said on the matter. Transfem and transmasc were coined to describe people who were transitioning in a feminine way and people who were transitioning in a masculine way. "AGAB" within trans spaces is a newer concept.
hey btw afabs can be born having cocks and balls and no tits and be rlly hairy and amabs can be born having vaginas and uteruses and tits and have very little hair . agab β sex . agab β gender . agab doesnt even equal what u were born as . shut up . agab is as made up as gender and sex stop using it as a new binary stop using it when referring to genitalia stop using it to refer to pre-transition bodies . stfu
death to AGAB! here's some ways to cut AGAB terminology out of your conversations:
if you need to discuss anatomy, just say "people with (organ)". AGAB is an extremely terrible and unreliable way to discuss anatomy, especially with intersex and transgenital individuals existing.
if you need to discuss misogyny, i personally like using "misogyny-affected''. it's simple, to the point, and doesn't exclude trans people for no reason.
if you need to discuss a dating or living preference, please look into what it is that you associate with each AGAB into your preference. if it's a genital preference, please just say that; it's a million times better than saying "i prefer AMABs/AFABs". if you prefer certain secondary sex characteristics, those aren't even exclusive to AGAB at all and it is transsexist to assume that they are.
if you're trying to talk about people with certain histories (growing up as a certain gender), AGAB is still a terrible way to do so and excludes intersex people and those who transition early. just say "people who grew up as boys" and "people who grew up as girls". or you can even just say "misogyny-affected in childhood".
