-he regularly has nightmares and it affect his sleep, some about truama and some about absolutely horrible things happening to Vanessa

-he has a black and white perception of people who are safe and people who are not safe, and it's usually arbitrary and more than half the people around him are not safe

-when he has flashbacks he'll kinda blackout and then when he's grounded he doesn't remember what happened the past hour or more

-he gets very quiet when he's having a flashback and it's unsettling to anyone who knows him personally, his speech slows down from brain fog and it's hard to think enough to talk

-he gets panic attacks on a regular basis and most of the time he has no idea what is triggering him, or he forgets what upset him later

-there was a period in his life where he was agoraphobic and couldn't leave his house without having a panic attack

-he has paranoid anxiety and it results in being overprotective of Vanessa because he can only imagine the worst case scenario when she does anything and sometimes Charlene has to step in and tell him that it's perfectly fine if she goes to the movies with her friends because she's not alone and modern day is significantly safer than the years he grew up in.

He struggled to let Vanessa drive by herself because he was so convinced it would kill her

He's aware he's paranoid and irrational but it doesn't make the anxiety go away at all. And he had to learn to cope with feeling uncomfortable with uncertainty
