Gamble || Adrian & Talia
@adrianreeves
Talia sat at the bar, stirring her drink slowly with her finger. In all honesty, it was just water(she didnât wanna drink again tonight after the party yesterday). She removed her finger from the drink and pulled out a deck of cards from her purse, shuffling them quickly to make sure the game was fair. Also, the mere act of shuffling cards was familiar to her. It seemed to mean more than just moving cards around, it was like juggling options, each card representing a different choice and the following consequence. She wasnât sure where the symbolism came from, or why she associated card games with fate, but she did.
She noticed Adrian approaching, and she glanced at her watch. He was a couple minutes late, but she didnât care much. They had all night. She figured that theyâd hang out, sheâd maybe teach him a few tricks, and they might play a little for fun. Talia knew how he wasnât necessarily the most skilled at gambling, and friends or not, she couldnât play with him professionally, it just wouldnât be fair.
Her face appeared stoic as she was in thought, but once he was within hearing distance a smile broke out over her face as she looked him over and continued to skillfully shuffle the cards, âHey, Adrian!â

Amy: I really wanted to like you because Ellie kept talking about this guy Adrian who was so great and such a good friend and how she didnât know what she would have done in LA without him and I love her so I was so excited to meet her friend
Fire flower, boo, red shell, pow block
Fire Flower: What do you find attractive in others?
Kindness, compassion, a good soul. Thereâs so much meanness in the world that those attributes stand out.
Boo: Do you get jealous easily?
In general, no. Iâm pretty okay with where I am in life. It would take someone taking or having something/someone extremely important to me to get me unhappy over it.
Red Shell: How did your last relationship end?
He was killed in a car accident.
I broke things off with him because he wanted me to give up my priesthood and be with him publicly. I couldnât do that.
Pow Block: Have you ever tried to sabotage someone else?
Before the car accident, I spent a lot of time and energy trying to ruin things for my parents and my brother. Their success in fitting in made me so unreasonably angry. I did everything I could to humiliate them, make them upset, destroy opportunities and relationships for them. Anything I could do to make them feel like misfits like I was. That was, of course, very wrong. I do not condone it.
