In Time

parker and this stupid book bag. andy thought he looked like he was about to take andy on a field trip into the museum. to be fair, the bag was equipped with everything required to take a child, or andy, anywhere. “tickets were nonrefundable for opening night,” he scoffed, crossing his arms over his chest. just looking at parker made him annoyed. then again, it made him a bit sad because he hated fighting with parker. it made him absolutely miserable. “well, lets go in,” andy grumbled, digging the tickets out of his pocket as he headed for the door.

parker knew andy had more than enough money to lose on a couple of museum tickets. he’d come because even though they were pissed at each other, they were still best friends. the thought made parker almost smile. almost. the two walked inside together, parker’s eyes eating up the grand decor of the building. massive banners advertised the exhibit; grand paintings of gold and sand. it was breathtaking. his annoyance was ebbing away, instead being replaced by awe and excitement, and there was a bounce in each step he took.

Pippa: I just don't like when I upset you.

Pippa: Thank you!

Pippa: I have big news.

Parker: Nah. We're good.

Pippa: I'm sorry. I was a bitch the other night. I'm not sure if it was the alcohol or the smell but that's no reason to say what I did.

the museum had been a wonderful idea when he’d bought the tickets. he’d heard parker mention the new exhibit, seen him looking up things online, and decided that he would be an amazing best friend and get the tickets. that had been months ago though and that was before he was royally pissed off with his best friend. andy didn’t remember much from the fight they’d had but he knew he was still mad and that he was right.

rationally, he knew he should have given the tickets to parker and told him to take who he wanted. that way, parker would still have a good time and he wouldn’t be miserably stuck in the museum. but he would be damned if parker took his secret boyfriend with him or something, instead of him. so andy followed through with the plan and was standing in front of the museum promptly, knowing that parker would show up because andy had his ticket.

parker was still pissed at andy. he had been incredibly drunk when the fight had taken place, but he remembered clearly thinking his friend was being ridiculous and hurtful. that being said, andy hadn’t cancelled their day out to the museum and he’d be damned if he was going to miss such an iconic exhibit.

so here he was, in his typical outside of school clothes (andy called it dad style), his backpack on his shoulders, pursing his lips unhappily as he approached the man who was clearly still unhappy with him, too. “i’m surprised you didn’t cancel,” he said instead of his typical cheerful greeting.

Hayden: I'll work on not stealing anymore.

Hayden: I'm not a kleptomaniac.

Hayden: No. I don't need one.

Hayden: Obviously, I have no need for a women's ring at all. It's like, I couldn't resist the urge to take it. Taking it made me feel really relieved. But not even a couple minutes later I felt very guilty. It's how I feel after I steal everything.

Hayden: I know. I'll work on it. I promise,

Parker: Like kleptomania?

Hayden: Everyone keeps asking me that, and I honestly don't know?

Hayden: Actually, I do know. But nobody understands me when I try to explain it. They just look at me like I'm a horrible person.

Hayden: Sometimes. I've gotten better.

Parker: Try me.

Hayden: I didn't want to freak you out.

Hayden: At the bar I stole some women's ring, and then I got arrested.

Hayden: And the good news is I've only got community service. Maybe I should help out around the school. I heard an English teacher might need some help with the kiddos.

Hayden: I'll always make it worth your while ;)

Parker: Why... would you steal a woman's ring??

Hayden: I spent a night in jail. It was really no big deal.

Hayden: Good, can't wait. ;)

Hayden: Awe, I don't want to be the person keeping you from your first period class.

Parker: ??????????????????????

Parker: Why did you not tell me this?? What happened?? Why??

Hayden: Something happened over the weekend that makes me a fuck up.

Hayden: But it's all sorted. So we can celebrate that.

Hayden: Just a little so we aren't to fucked up we can't work tomorrow.

Hayden: If you'd like you can spend the night or something?

Parker: oh no. what happened?

Hayden: hey, want to celebrate that I'm not a screw up?!

Parker: was there the assumption that you are?

Parker: or an event that proves you aren't?

Parker: I'm lost.
