Amy wasn’t someone Peyton wanted to intentionally hurt, but she also wasn’t someone she wanted to get close with. Not when she cared for Ariadne so much and would have to watch her suffer. “Hey, yeah. St. Barts. It was gorgeous, and had some amazing napping spots. I was in a cabana one afternoon with a hammock partially in the water.” She smiled at the memory, truly loving that moment.
“Oh, that does sound fantastic except I don’t like being on the beach so I probably wouldn’t enjoy it that much.” She’d never liked the water - mostly she chalked it up to a childhood memory of losing sight of her family at the beach but sometimes - well, she didn’t think about the other images that tried to surface. “I wanna get out of the city sometime though, because things have been so fucked up for so long. I need a break from it all.”
“I don’t think you pull off anything, but you definitely can’t pull off a goth look.” Admitting that Amy was attractive was far from anything Adrian was comfortable doing. He preferred to keep their relationship as is - petty schoolchildren fighting over anything they could. His face scrunched at the mention of tongue piercing, remembering one particular incident in the back of one of the bars he’d worked security for years ago. “Not as interesting as you’d think, at least if you’re trying to put it to use.” Shaking his head, he reached forward to snatch the black flowered crown back from her. “I take it all back. The only thing that would suit you is a goblin mask.”
“It’s so cute when you think you can hurt my feelings by talking about my looks when I know how good I look. I can pull off anything I want.” She had a lot of insecurities but her looks were not on that list. Reaching up, she fingered one of the flowers absently, shrugging off his comment about the tongue piercing; it wasn’t really something she cared about either way. When he took the crown, she just shrugged again and turned on her heel, walking a few feet away. “Suit yourself, but you know you’re just masking the fact that you think I’m hot.”

Adrian smirked when he spotted the black rose flower crown and grabbed it up off the shelf like a greedy child. “Look, I found the perfect accessory to go with your constant awful mood.” Before she could protest, Adrian plopped the crown on to Amy’s dark hair and took a step back to examine his handiwork. “Yep, that’s perfect. Now all you need is some black lipstick and a tongue piercing.” @amyorariadne
“You act like I should be offended but honestly, I could pull off the goth look.” Amy found a mirror and glanced in it, reaching up to adjust the flower crown until she was satisfied. “Actually I have some dark lipstick already so I’m like, halfway there. And I’ve heard tongue piercings can be really exciting so maybe I’ll go for it.” She thought the best way to deal with him and his annoyances was simply to roll along with them, and not let on if he was irritating her. Which he wasn’t really, in this case.
As soon as things from the earthquake settled down Peyton had hopped on a plane. She needed a week of relaxation away from everything, so she made her way to St. Barts for just that. A week of great shopping and even better food had refreshed her in just the way that she had hoped. Of course she couldn’t stay away from LA from long so she was back home now, carrying a few shopping bags as she waited for her uber to arrive and take her back to her place. At the sight of someone familiar she lowered her eyes to her phone, avoiding everyone as best as she could.
“I feel like I should be offended,” Amy said, pausing as she neared Peyton. She wasn’t really offended though; if anyone understood the need not to let people close, it was Amy. But she didn’t move on just yet either - she had some time to kill before work, and it looked like Peyton wasn’t doing anything specific either at the moment. “You were away, right? Did you have a good time?”

Ariadne was the daughter of King Minos of Crete and his wife Pasiphae, making her the half-sister to the Minotaur. She helped Theseus to defeat the Minotaur and fled Crete with him, only to be abandoned on the island of Naxos.
While on the island, she was seen by Dionysus and he took her as his consort. Ariadne was happy with her husband but she was killed by the hero Perseus and went to the underworld. Dionysus came to rescue her and she became a goddess.
There’s not really a lot to her story other than that; the myths about her abandonment and death are really contradictory so I chose to go with this particular version.

Amy is the sister of Ellie Cooper Yu.
Parental death tw: When she was a little girl, her mom was diagnosed with cancer and eventually succumbed to the disease, turning Amy’s otherwise happy world completely upsidedown. Although she loved her mother dearly, Amy refused to visit her in the hospital and carries a lot of guilt over that to this day. Since that time, Amy has kept everyone - including her siblings - at arm’s length, trying not to let anyone close enough to hurt her like that again.
Amy tells herself that her fears of abandonment originate with her mother’s death, but she came very close to remembering the truth recently, and although she buried those thoughts again, she still has uncomfortable flashes of memory at times.
She moved to LA with her sister and decided to attend the National Wine School on a whim (and also because she loves drinking). Since graduation, she has worked at Maenad’s as a sommelier.
Amy doesn’t do relationships (platonic or romantic) and since high school, has had a pattern of dating briefly and breaking up quickly, when she even agrees to date. Usually she’s happy with a night in bed with someone. There have been a couple of exceptions to this rule but not very many.
She can be abrasive - she speaks her mind and isn’t afraid to make people dislike her, although she’s very careful to be on her best behavior at work (she loves her job). If you get on her bad side, you’re probably there to stay.
Alcoholism tw: Amy has a slight drinking problem, although she wouldn’t admit to that. She prefers drinking and not thinking about her issues to facing them like an adult.
Amy has two budgies and two Bengal cats, which surprisingly all get along well.
