3 years ago I met man friend wearing this here River Island dress purchased from Asos rocking the same red lip I was cautious of when I was in my 20's. It has this adorable old school feel and reminds me of when I used to wear a similar fit with my shell toe Adidas in 8th grade. Man friend still likes this look, so she's a keeper, nice to know some things never change 😊 Also.. how cute is my crown hair clip??? There have been many lapses on my #ADressADayJune journey this summer but I always make time to catch up...eventually. I remember when I was young growing up in NC I thought women with brown skin like mine should not wear certain colors because I was "too brown" . Much later when I was in my 30s some of my way back followers may even recall the story of the white lady I worked with at AWS who told me black women should not wear the color blue because our skin was too dark. I wonder how many women of color have ultimately shunned a color or style because "it does not suit us"🤔 An-T-ways I digress, today's 2 piece cutie received several stops and compliments when I was out earlier. This material is super stretchy and is made to order by hand from @ovonion she's truly one of the best in the business making the baddest pieces (minority owned, woman owned, win-win!) and a few times a year I like to treat myself to a color or print that I "shouldn't wear" 😂😂😂 kiss my grits I like green.You gon' get this work!!
