I might or might not have completely forgotten that I had this ask on hold :B
At this point I can't keep excusing my lack of designs for all the characters (except the fëanorians) with "I'm new in this fandom". But yeah...I don't have a design for her, so I had to improvise. Sorry about that too.
All that being said, have a quick Miriel in a more experimental style.

Your AnairĂ« is beautiful đđ I need more of her!
ask, and you shall receive! đ„șđ apologies this took so long, but im super super flattered you like my anaire!! Thank you so much waaaaa đââïž Sheâs always such a gem to draw and explore, esp cuz i love her and nolololofinwe way too much hehe. Plus, tolkien ladies solidarity!! Mom squad lets goOOOOO
(if spearwoman naginata anaire is a thing, i hope to one day do warhammer nerdanel and earwen... whatâd be a good weapon for earwen i wonder?)
also, i couldnt fit all my ideas abt the little sketch of anaire and finno on the top left into the page, so hereâs an extra bonus of anaire being a great/terrible influence on her son!:
Thoughts on Imin & Iminyë, Tata & Tatië and Enel & Enelyë?
Mhm that question is a bit unexpected but I don't let an opportunity to talk about some probably very unknown characters go to waste. Also sorry that it took me so long to answer.
First of all I kind of have a thing for fixating on minor characters with barely any background information or anything about them because they are pretty flexible in how they can be fleshed out. Those six are like the perfect example for this. All we know about them is that Imin, Tata and Enel were the first elves to awaken at Cuivienen and that IminyÄ, TatiĂ« and EnelyĂ« were their wives. Their names mean First, Second and Third and their Tribes (Minyar, Tatyar and Nelyar) were named after them. We have a little bit more knowledge about Imin because it is mentioned somewhere (I'm not sure where because I don't own any copies of the HoME because they're super expensive where I live) that he was pretty arrogant and proud.
And that's basically it. We don't know whether they sailed or if they remained, if they died or lived or whatever. It's all open and I love that. A blank canvas for me as a fanfiction writer (even though I don't write very regularly) to work with.
There are so many interpretations one could go with. I have seen some nice ones, like each couple being the parents to one of the high kings (and siblings of course) or I have read a fic that made it clear that Ingwë was actually Imin. I have seen different and unique takes that were fantastic in their own rights.
Now my personal thoughts are basically my own Headcanons regarding their personalities, families and fates. I'll have them under the cut because the post would get too long otherwise, also because I don't know if you'd be interested in Headcanons...
Imin & IminyÄ
I like to keep Imin's arrogant character traits because it gives him personality and a bit of a motive already. He is kind of a dick towards everyone who is not part of his people but those thirteen aside from him who are Minyar? Helicopter tribe leader through and through. He loves them to death and will do anything to protect him from harm. There are so few of them and he knows that if anyone dies there is not much hope for his people surviving.
IminyÄ is the one who organises their people's daily lives because she has a very good eye for logistics, if she had ever made it to Valinor one would've maybe even considered her a Noldor, because of her way to approach things from a very logical perspective.
The only reason IngwĂ« becomes leader of the Minyar is because Imin realises that he is not very capable of leading his people into the West after OromĂ« shows up. He considers IngwĂ« the one to most likely succeed in that task and be a just and good king. IminyÄ's disappearance a few years prior might have had an impact on his decision. He goes West but slowly fades away on their journey.
Tata & Tatië
The only ones who actually survived the first age because of good decision making. Probably the only ones who awoke with braincells as well (I promise I'm not biased or anything).
Tata steps back as leader of the Tatyar as soon as it becomes clear that Finwë is the best man for the job. He still assist him with the management of their tribe but at heart he is a warrior, the warrior of the three elf fathers so to speak. He is the first one to discover that a well aimed stone can do serious harm and also the first one to tie a ponty rock on a stick and make a spear. That's his accomplishment and he's very proud of it. Also probably the only one in Beleriand who'd be able to beat Fingolfin in a sparring match if he wanted to but he doesn't because he isn't really that fond of the Noldor or rather what has become of them.
Tatië on the other hand is a very motherly person, not just towards members of her own tribe but to others as well. She basically adopts everyone she comes across instantly. Therefore the number of their children varies from the three they have biologically to up to maybe sixty on an emotional level? Finwë is definitely one of them. She is also very good with plants and animals.
I have not yet decided if they die in later ages, if they sail or what their role would be. Idk I have to figure that out.
Enel & Enelyë
They're both formidable leaders and take their task very seriously not because their People are so few like it is with Imin and IminyÄ but because there is so many of them that it would be hard to keep track of them if they didn't take everything seriously.
Enel is quiet, like really quiet. He doesn't like talking that much but his actions speak more than words ever could. While Tata is the warrior of the early elves, Enel is the healer. He knows what he's doing immediately, out of pure instinct. He's good with children too. His people aren't bothered by the lack of words.
Enelyë is the first 'greatest Singer of the Eldar'. She has a crystal clear voice and probably discovered some sort of proto version for a song of power. She uses her abilities to keep the fear away from her people's hearts and to deliver some sense of security. Also a very motherly person.
Now these two are the only one's who really die. IminyÄ was lost, probably in some dungeon of the enemy, Imin faded over the loss of his beloved wife but Enel and EnelyĂ«? They died protecting a small group of their tribe that was out looking for berries and other eatable food from a group of Melkor's servants. The only survivor of this group was their only child Elmo, later taken in by ElwĂ« and OlwĂ« as an adoptive brother. ElwĂ« is voted by their people to become the next leader.
That's basically it! It's just like a breakdown. I have some more detailed information about them but that would've been too much for now.
For @actuallymiriel who requested something about Nienna and Ungoliant. So here is an attempt at their first meeting.
It is OlĂłrin who finds her.
He comes to Niennaâs tower with the jar in hand - the small spider curled up at the bottom - and a small smile on his face.
Nienna cocks her head ever so slightly to the side.
âShe was hiding in the eaves,â OlĂłrin explains and puts the jar on the table. âI didnât want to crush her.â
Nienna nods and leans forward to press a kiss to his forehead. âYou can return to your duties now OlĂłrin.â
He bows his head politely and departs, leaving Nienna alone with her new captive.
She should, of course, inform her brothers and the rest of the Valar of this development but firstâŠ
She unscrews the lid and the little spider in the bottom of the jar curls up tighter.
âCome out now.â It isnât quite an order but it isnât quite a request either. âI shanât hurt you.â
It takes a great deal more coaxing before - with tentative steps - the spider crawls out and onto the table.
Nienna sinks to her knees so that she does not tower over her and rests her hands and chin against the edge of the table.
âNow what were you doing?â She asks. âI am sure that Lord Tulkas would say that this is sabotage but...â She trails off, talking more to herself than the spider. âBut you are sad. I should know after all. Now why are you sad?â
The spider scuttles to the side, cowering away from her, and Nienna sighs softly.
She sits back on her heels and offers the spider her palm. âCome, let me help you.â
The spider makes no reaction apart from to scuttle back even further.
âI can help you heal. I will not tell my kin of your presence before I have helped you and neither shall OlĂłrin.â She keeps her hand flat on the table and finally - finally - the spider creeps her way along the wood and onto Niennaâs fingertips.
âThere,â Nienna stands, bring her hand up to her chest and closing her eyes. She can feel each of the spiderâs nervous steps as she begins to hum. She lets her eĂ€la touch against the spiders and she falls into it.
Your tiny MĂriel hiding under VairĂ«'s hair is the cutest! đ could you draw her again? this time sitting on NĂĄmo's shoulder?
Ahhhh thank you! And of course I can! NĂĄmo looks very serious and silent but he is in fact enjoying MĂrielâs comentary very much.
The time lines probably donât match up but I like to imagine sheâs sitting up there watching Luthien appeal for the return of Beren and trying to prod NĂĄmo into giving him back.
Side note: I love how this turned out?! Gonna use this style more often

41 with dark!Galadriel and Mairon? if you're still doing those lovely prompts đ„°
41 is âHome is where the heart isâ from this prompt list. I made myself do a double-drabble (200 words) so that I wouldnât get bogged down in how and just focus on V I B E S.
The bright forest stretches as far as the eye can see; gold and silver rays fall between branches. The light seems soft, but any soul ensnared here soon finds their head aching and eyes streaming with tears as if they looked at the sun. The sound of rustling leaves and running water fills the air. As he approaches where She dwells, the screaming singing of elves surrounds him, lyrical and unending.Â
There is no guard at the great tree in the heart of the forest; the tree is sufficient. He freezes as his measure is taken, the ancient mind touching his, smooth limbs brushing his body. The branches reaching towards him recede, revealing a staircase. He climbs, half willing, half compelled.
âYou have come to serve, Admirable One.â He falls to his knees. He wants to gaze upon beauty bright as the morning and dark as the night, to see Her in all her terror and worship her as she deserves, but his eyes stay lowered.
âCome, faithful servant.â He crawls to her, ease flowing through him that he has been absent for an age. His kind were made to serve â in Galadriel he has found a worthy mistress.
