Look I know The Crown got worse as it got closer to modern day, but even the low standards of series 5 did not prepare me for Nightmare King Tony Blair.
#if u followed me for incisive analysis of great works of literature i apologise#the crown#anti the crown#i guess#THINGS CAN ONLY GET BETTER AS SUNG BY THE WESTMINSTER ABBEY CHOIR#actually mental#tony blair being the archnemesis the queen is building up to makes sense#given that he seems to represent a sort of inescapable modernity that throughout the show she's tried to hide from#and with every prime minister its for more difficult#but also#it's really not done very well#you can't make a show about a person as controversial and honestly mysterious as qeii and then insist there has to be good guys and bad guys#and SHE is the good guy#i think a good show about the Queen could've existed#it's not this one tho
