I identify as biromantic. Am I grey-aromantic too or arospec? -When I have crushes, they disappear later on -I want to be in relationship in the future but not right now -I can’t see myself getting married/ nor do I want to be. -I don’t get crushes on my friends -If someone had a crush on me, I’d question why and find it kinda weird -I don’t really get a lot of crushes. I just find people attractive. I’ve probably had 1 or 2 serious crushes where I wanted a relationship.
Hi, anon!
First, I can’t tell you what you are, but I can hopefully give you some guidance in terms of what might fit you according to what you describe here. Now, I’m pretty sure I’m alloromantic so I might not be the best to answer, but I can compare this to my experiences and what I know of aro-spec identities.I think a lot of alloromantics also experience their crushes fading, though since you don’t get a lot of crushes that sounds more aro-spec. I’ve made a list of some aro-spec identities I think might fit you, but you’ll have to read and see what fits for yourself:
Frayromantic: Feels attraction to strangers/thoses those they don’t know well, but fades once they know them better.
Lith/akioromantic: Can have a romantic attraction to someone but does not want those feelings returned.
Grayromantic: rarely and/or only weakly experiencing romantic attraction. Can also be used as an ubrella term for aro-spec identities that aren’t completely aromantic.Â
I suppose experiencing some attraction but it rarely developing into crushes suggests the attraction is weaker than is more common for alloromantics, and so suggests an aro-spec orientation.
I also suggest going to some aro-spec specific blogs or forums and reading some of their experiences to help you. Some aro blogs I know of are @a-quiver-of-aros and @cake-for-ace
Hope this helps, good luck in figuring out your identity!- Mod Riah
