Letting People Help Us Is Punk
âCome, Mr. Frodo!â he cried. âI canât carry it for you, but I can carry you.â It can be difficult, scary, and vulnerable to let people help us. But, âFrodo wouldnât have gotten far without Sam.â Letting people help us makes them feel good. It eases everyoneâs burdens. And, it is an active rejection of all we are taught we âshouldâ be in this hyper-individualistic society we live in. LettingâŚ
For me, early parenthood was a radical lesson in learning to accept help.
We all have seasons of life where we have to take more than we can give; it's not a failure and you're not obligated to limit the help you accept because you can't reciprocate. You will have some future season where it is your turn to give more, and you can trust yourself to answer the call when it's time.
If you are in a season of receiving, know that gifts support relationships, and it requires participation by both the giver and the recipient to make that magic happen. Receiving with gratitude is a gift as well.
Bucky Barnes kid
This is some oc stuff I wrote in my car this morning
He doesnât quite know how it happened exactly but it did, and there he is, sitting on a random chair some agent and pulled into a random room with some random newborn in his arms that was supposed to be his.
âHow did this happen?â He asked the agents but he wasnât met with a straight answer.
*âThere was a mistake on a mission a while ago.â*
*âIt was an experiment.â*
*âThat doesnât matter, soldier.â*
But none of those responses were the truth, and he would sadly never remember the truth.
He wouldnât remember that one girl, who had the softest touch he had felt in decades and eyes that were such a familiar shade of blue he couldnât bare to look away.
He wouldnât ever remember how all those HYDRA agents seemed to just *let* them interact. He didnât know why at the time and he would never know in the future but he didnât care because for the first time in a long time he loved someone and they loved him back.
âDo you want me to tie your hair back for you?â She had asked him on a cool Siberian summers day.
âHm?â
âYour hair, it looks like itâs bother you.â
âOh, I donât care.â
Oh but he did care, and oh he loved it.
After any mission he would be sent on, she would be there waiting on him with her mother.
They didnât wipe his memories, they only had to say âdo it for herâ and thatâs all he needed to hear, âdo it to keep her safe.â
He took whatever extra hits he needed if it meant keeping her safe, and making sure she was happy.
She was his whole world, and just as soon as she arrived she was taken away.
It wasnât sudden, but it was noticeable. She went from being there everyday, to every other day, to once a week, then once a month, then he never saw her again.
They wiped his memories over and over and over again to ensure he was clean. They sent him to kill people who had no reason to die, he had forgotten her existence.
All he had was their child in his arms with no explanation of how this was his kid, and why he should care.
ugh and it makes my heart ache so much for judd because he's just trying his best. he's always been trying his best. grace left to do something really important to her and he's done his best to be supportive and hold down the fort with charlie and their life in austin. wyatt had his accident and judd quit his job so he could give him his full attention and time as a caregiver and now that wyatt is able to be independent and working he's doing his best to give him that space he needs. and time is passing and everyone's lives are moving on and he's still doing his best to stay afloat but it's so much harder when there's all this space where people in his life used to be, his wife, his son, his crew, his support system. he's doing his best to handle it because that's what he does and it's finally gotten to be too much and that's just so.... :(

Getting Where You Need To Be
Fantasy and Fiction are great motivators to move forward when one wants to escape. They show compelling characters forging ahead and creating a better world for it. And...they cut out all the mundane middle steps.

A Hand-up Or A Handout Know Which Is Which
Attractioners, Itâs imperative to understand the nuance between, âa hand-up or a handout.â While both have the appearance of supporting you in achieving your dreams, desires, goals etc., one celebrates your independence, and the other creates dependence. Before you accept help from anyone, and I do mean anyone, understand the type of strings that may bind you to the helping hand that has beenâŚ
