Abel didn’t spend much time around humans, but when he did, he found himself extremely fascinated by them. He couldn’t help but people watch. They’ve grown so much since his birth and creation. They certainly were enthralling. He stared mesmerized by a television screen in a department store window, “Have you seen this?” he commented to a passerby, “The pictures look almost real.” { @smoakiism }

He could feel the warding being emitted from the other end of the alleyway. It had caught his attention. As he raised his hand, he felt the powerful angel wards preventing him from continuing along his path. It was never a good sign when you come across something that was being hidden from Heaven. “What are you hiding here?” He puzzled aloud to himself. { @ofinfiniteuniverses​ }

“Wait, something doesn't feel right. No, something seems wrong.”

Even after all this time, there was something that still made Abel fear seeing Cain. It wasn’t because Cain murdered him. Abel came to terms about that long ago. Rather it was fear and shame from within himself. Abel felt guilty. His brother did so much to save him, but Abel couldn’t save Cain. Abel couldn’t count the number of times he thought about how their places could have been inverted. He could have been Lucifer’s Knight of Hell. But his older brother killed him to save him from that fate. He swallowed his nervousness as he approached, “Brother.”

To be fair, this whole ‘angel’ thing didn’t come so naturally too him. Maybe it was the whole resurrection thing that threw him for a loop, or maybe it was the fact he was originally a human. But there were just some things that he just could never understand. “Long story short, I’m here by accident.” { @gravisludos }

Demon activity lured the angel to the area. Word had spread quickly and it was only a matter of time before even humans started to notice something was happening. Abel had been sent ahead to scout the area. Suddenly, he stopped dead in the alleyway. Everything about this screamed trap, but he was in too deep. The angel blade dropped from his sleeve as he prepared to defend himself, “Show yourself.” { @consiqnedtooblivion }

Doubt always plagued Abel’s mind. He had always been unsure about the grand mission of Heaven. But he tried to push it from his mind and carry on with his duty. Yet, it always nagged him. He was still afraid to confess what he felt, for fear he’d be punished for his doubts, “What if everything we believe is wrong?”

The bus shelter was the only protection from the driving rain. He sat on the small bench under the glass arch, keeping his legs tucked in to keep them as dry as possible. Yes, he could go wherever he wished, but that negated the entire point. He wanted the human experience which meant inclement weather and scrounging around for change for the bus fare. Human life was rather difficult. He leaned over to the other person who had joined him in the dry shelter. Holding out a damp bus map, he asked, “I don’t suppose you can read this, can you?” (@shinyblackchevrolet )
