#minori

I propose that Violet and Minori are members of a plural system, who upon entering the phase world were placed in separate vessels rather than continuing to sharing a singular body.

Before I begin my explanation, let me preface by saying that a lot of my knowledge on the subject of plurality comes from Pluralpedia. For any relevant terminology there will be links to corresponding pages on the site.

I am not a system member myself so I cannot judge the accuracy of any information from the site based on my own experience, nor do I know if this is what series creator mango-ki intended or (more importantly) if the conclusion I came to could be considered derogatory or offensive. If any of you reading this are system members and would like to correct or clarify anything, please let me know. Along with that I will be referring to Violet and Minori by the names of the characters they became after entering the phase world, as I could not find or infer any prior names they could've had beforehand. Anyways, theory bellow:

On the path to Requiem's secret Good Ending, the game leads you to a "secret" website hosted on mango-ki's neko-ame domain.

This site is a collection of three pages, which seem to be messages to the player from three different characters.

Page 2 (aG9wZQ==.html, this is "hope" in Base64 btw) is seemingly written by Catto Boi (likely as Malice), going off of how he references collecting items for Big Boi while venting about his life.

While this page is important to attaining the ending, as it contains the title and contents of a text file which the player must reassemble and save to their pc to unlock it, it is not relevant to this theory.

Pages 1 and 3 are the heart and soul of this post, and I will cover the prior of these now.

Page 1 (1.html) is written by Minori, this is proven by Page 3 which I will cover next.

According to this page, Minori entered the phase world on accident by attempting to use a generative ai by a company titled Opalsoft to enhance a video game mod she was making for her best friend, with her consciousness seemingly getting pulled into the computer through her "cognitive VR implant" as a result.

The game referred to here is likely an in-universe Catto Boi game, the exact one is unknown.

We know she had to physically be using a computer as she could feel the keyboard she was typing on heat up as the ai took over. This will be an important detail for later.

Onto Page 3 (matcha.html), which is 999999999% from Violet's pov since she aludes to herself being Torment.

It is confirmed in the Bad Ending of Requiem that Torment is a reincarnated form of Violet, so if this were somehow just a massive coincidence I would genuinely be shocked.

As Minori's reaction may suggest, she and Violet were very close. This is because Minori is a friend of Violet who was "a part of" her since her childhood, described by Violet as being "like the sister that I couldn't have." Minori helped Violet make it through the turmoil of life in a dysfunctional family when noone else did.

The wording of the first sentence is very specific, and is explained in just a moment.

Ontop of this Violet also confirms that she is the friend referenced on Page 1, by stating that Minori created the previously mentioned video game mod for her.

Now, about that line.

"Minori has been a part of me since childhood."

This line implies that Minori isn't a separate person from Violet, but how exactly isn't clear.

My answer to this is that she actually is a separate person, but not physically. Because, as I stated earlier, I believe that Violet and Minori were part of a system before entering the phase world.

The immediate next part of the page I'll show is what had my mind tearing itself apart to get to a conclusion, which was how this post and my original thread on bluesky came to be. I'll let it speak for itself.

Now after reading this you may feel sad for Violet, I certainly did, but you may also ask "if Minori isn't real then how could she physically interact with a computer keyboard like she said she did in Page 1?"

First, Minori is a real person. Nothing I've found suggests the contrary.

Second, Minori was likely fronting when developing the mod. This means she had control over her and Violet's body at the time, which explains how she could interact with the computer and feel the keyboard heating up.

Your next question may be "how did Minori come to be?"

This likely stems from Violet's dysfunctional family and her lack of friends at the time. Violet had trauma from listening to her parents arguing, and considering how she was "looked down on" by everyone she likely felt she had noone to talk to about it. When Violet almost couldn't handle it, emotions bubbling out from inside her, someone appeared in her mind. Someone who finally listened.

Violet is the core of a traumagenic system, and Minori is a headmate who formed as a result of Violet's experiences and chose to comfort her and stick with her as her only friend.

As stated earlier, Violet and Minori seemed to be torn apart from their one body and made to occupy separate bodies/vessels after being pulled into the phase world. I don't know how to feel about this, and that's where I'll leave the post for now.
