Abbot gets home, crawls into bed, tries to sleep, but can’t — his unsettling interaction with Robby keeps looping in his head.
He decides to turn on the radio for some background noise and finally drifts off -> water park accident.
*Groan of despair and frustration*
He rushes back to the hospital because he just can’t help himself, only to find that his favorite resident has an anxiety attack, and Robby is slipping further and further into full on Joker mode and is ready to fight with the new, nice attending.
all of this while running on probably less than five hours of sleep.

ICYMI: “Where have we come from? Where are we going?”
"Where have we come from? Where are we going?" is my latest Pitt fic, a smutty oneshot that brings Jack Abbot and Baran Al-Hashimi together during Robby's sabbatical leave. I wrote it after some prompting by @commander-writergirl (who published her own Roshimi story today) and @thedamnqueenofhell, who egged us both on.
This story is, like most of my stories, rated E for 🌶️
This story is not my usual offering. Most of my stories center Jack and Robby's relationship. "Where have we come from? Where are we going?" marks the first time I've paired Jack Abbot with someone other than Robby. It is also my first time writing Baran Al-Hashimi. I had a lot of fun with this one, and I hope you enjoy it, too.
Two fun facts:
(1) the landscape shown in the banner above (and in greater detail below) is Dasht-e-Barshi, a district in western Kabul where extremists attacked the Atatürk Children's Hospital on May 12, 2020;
(2) the title of the story is taken from a line from the Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám, a medieval Persian poet.
A couple of readers have already inquired about a sequel, and I haven't ruled out the possibility. I had a lot of fun writing this one and might be willing to explore what happens with this pairing when Robby returns from his sabbatical leave.
