Caliginous Porter-Hidden Cove Brewing Co.-Wells, ME

Caliginous means dark, misty, gloomy, cold. So yeah, probably should have picked a different day to drink this other than a sunny Easter day afternoon. (insert april fools joke here.) Anywho, this fine dark porter with a malty smooth start, hint of chocolate and caramel to keep you hooked, finally a smooth vanilla finish, perfect for a cold, dark, moist nights in front of a fireplace.

And just so keep with the atmosphere the beer should have been consumed with, play a bad wolves cover of “zombie” whilst sipping this. Just don’t use this beer or my post as an excuse to suddenly buy t-shirts and skinny jeans in bulk from hot topic, spencer’s gifts or other joints like that. I am not responsible if you or a loved one become goth or emo after that advice.

Scrimshaw Pilsner-North Coast Brewing Co.-Ft. Bragg, CA

What can I say except, great pilsner, this fine brew coming to my taste buds from California is the exact definition of a great tasting clean pilsner, with a subtle hop flavor, and a good dry finish, this everyman’s beer is practically perfect to pair with any meal, especially seafood.

Yuengling-Traditional Lager-Pottsville, PA

A very fine lager, this fantastic beer starts off very subtle but introduces your taste buds to a strong wheat and malty taste only a traditional lager can bring you. Finishing off with an aftertaste well enjoyed with a cheesy entree.

Grey Lady-Cisco Brewers-Nantucket, MA

There once was a mermaid from Nantucket...Y'all can fill in the blanks from here. Okay, dirty jokes aside this beer is also one of my favorites, this weird blend of spices gives this beer a unique experience I never had before. Very little bite, but I’m sure it really doesn’t matter at that point, this unique flavor, finish, and experience is enough to secure this rating.

Intellectuale-8th Wonder Brewery-Houston, TX

This one came from the taps available for a limited time at Envy Wine Room in Old Town Spring, a fine blonde ale and by far one of the best draft beers that the bar had on tap. I really had no complaints about this beer, unlike my hilariously funny review of the previous beer, it had a fine wheat, hops, and bubbles ratio for a blonde, the bite was light, which is okay this time around, and the finish left no bad aftertaste in my mouth.
