Source details and larger version.
I've tarted up my modest collection of vintage lemons.
the iron shepherds arc in c2 really is THE best way to establish the m9 realizing they want to be more than the dipshits they resigned themselves to accepting they were (even though, as shakäste points out, they were always Good). the way molly is an asshole like the rest of them but insists he left every town better than he found it, and beau scoffing at that til she watches him die and she snaps thinking she proved she was a True asshole to him. the way nott realizes she loves the m9 and they are a family, challenging caleb who cant find the gall to say it yet. artagan who cant save jester alone, in disguise, saying he's helping the m9 because "this place is a shithole and good people are hard to find". keg, nila, & shakäste are the perfect guests to the party; keg is the igniter of the conflict of redemption & change, especially for beau who hates herself and, for a time, keg for her role in the shepherd assault. nila is proof anyone can step up and the m9 aid her in finding her family; she thanks them with teary eyes right at the pinnacle of the theme of heroism in them. and shakäste, as i said earlier, is proof that a hero isnt always loud and gilded; and he tells the m9 they are the same at the very end of the arc. maybe a true hero doesnt brag and accept accolades. maybe a true hero is just someone who frees dozens and tries to save their family.

Thinking about the Nein’s collection of guest PCs and really hoping that they manage to keep them in the animated series, because the way each of them impacts the Nein, or is impacted by the Nein themselves, is so delicious.
Shakaste provides them with a reliable friendly face and contact in the Empire when they need it most, and safeguards Yeza, Luc, and Old Lady Edith on the journey to Nicodranas.
Calianna not only provides conflict that’s significant to Beauregard and Caleb’s character and relationship growth, but also becomes a steady presence of friendship in the background for everyone. I really hope if she’s included in the show that they keep the letter she sends to everyone and the wand she gives Caleb that becomes part of his components for the tower.
Keg not only fits into the assholery of the Nein’s early dynamics perfectly, but she provides an excellent emotional counter to our next guest following Mollymauk’s death. I would love to see the group lay into her in their anguish, especially with that self-imposed disadvantage Ashly worked in when facing Lorenzo. I also would love to see that in show format! (Also it would be really funny to get to the end of a hypothetical c3 animated show and get centaur-ified Keg)
Nila is a port of calm in the storm of grief that follows Mollymauk’s death.
Twiggy provides them with the Folding Halls of Halas, one of the most significant magic items in the campaign, and could also serve as an excellent bit of comic relief after what I’m sure would be a long, tension fraught pirates arc.
Spurt would be so simple to incorporate and incredibly funny. Perkins works at Darrington Press now. Please give us animated eleven days.
Reani. The way the Nein impact her views on morality is such an excellent mid-game culmination of their character growth. They’ve grown so much at that point that’s they’re able to start influencing others! It would also serve as good foreshadowing for what’s to come with Essek.
It seems unlikely we’ll get Alfield this season, which means no Shakaste off the bat, but he could possibly come in later like he also did in-campaign. Everyone else could, as of now, appear where they did before. And I really hope we get, if not all, then some of them.
are we just going to ignore the fact that Scanlan is travelling with KEG?? like THE Keg?? early campaign 2 Keg who had a one night stand with Beau and left the morning after, leaving two badly spelled notes, one for Nott
And one for "Bo"
which in case you can't tell reads
"crossed out shit
more crossed out shit
even more crossed out shit
THANKS"
