I hope everyone has enjoyed the early access to 7KPP! Now that we've had a few months to play around and try out many MANY branches in the game (and Mod Tina has had some time to recover from finishing her graduate degree), it's time for 7KPP Week!
As a reminder, and for any newcomers to the fandom, 7KPP Week is basically a week of short prompts that we the mods come up with, intended as an opportunity to inspire and share fanworks that showcase our love for the game. Any types of fanworks are welcome, from fanart or fanfiction to meta, playlists, or just long rambles about your thoughts! We're all just here to spread our love and positivity!
Note: As the game has been out for several months now, spoiler content is perfectly welcome, and indeed encouraged in some of the prompts, and some prompts may include spoilers! Please be aware if you wish to participate or spectate!
So, without further ado, the details!
When: Between October 20 and October 26!
Where: Post on tumblr (and elsewhere is fine too but weâll be organizing here on tumblr)
The prompts are as follows! (Since some of these are rather vague, there are some more details and some questions that might help inspire you under the cut!)
Day One - Background (Remix)
Day Two - Date Night
Day Three - Letters
Day Four - Angst Week (Turnabout)
Day Five - Secrets
Day Six - Suitcase
Day Seven - Epilogue
Feel free to use the tag â7KPP Week 2024â and/or mention this blog, and weâll do our best to reblog everything!
As always, please feel free to send an ask/DM me if you have any questions! We look forward to seeing everyoneâs submissions, and hope that you have a great autumn!
-Mod Tina
Day 1 - Background (Remix)
What is your character's background and why did you pick it? How do they feel about it? If you've talked about this before, you can instead consider the following: Have you considered using an existing MC for one of the secret backgrounds? Is there another background you think might be interesting for your MC? Elements of another background you could incorporate into them for an AU?
Day 2 - Date Night
If your MC had a friendship date (or a real one), what would it be? How would it play out? Who would they invite? What stat(s) would it raise? What would the achievement for success be named?
Day Three - Letters
Over the course of the game, we received letters written from loved ones of both our characters and our LIs. Who would send the LI a letter on behalf of your MC? What would it say?
Day Four - Angst Week (Turnabout)
Let's share in the angst of week 5! If your LI had a near-death experience during the courting phase, how would your MC react? Alternatively, did your MC ever consider breaking things off? If so, why?
Day Five - Secrets
If your MC had a discoverable secret at the Summit for other characters to find, what would it be? Would it be a chain? Something that is needed to get to know them? Is it blackmail material?
Day Six - Suitcase
Does your MC bring any non-essentials with them to the Summit? What do they take home with them afterwards?
Day Seven - Epilogue
We got glimpses of what the ending looked like for your character post-Summit. Are there any other scenes you have in your mind's eye? Anything that you would change? What does life look like for your characters after the end?

yes, this is technically the prompt for day 3, but I need a little more time to finish the prompt for today, and this one is done, so I'm switching them up and sharing a letter Elisabeth may have given to Hamin. A flowery shovel talk if you will. I usually imagine that she still invites Hamin to spend time with her on date day, for the sole purpose of giving him a shovel talk about Noah, which Hamin is far too amused about for his own good.
Yes Elisabeth is my ethical, compassionate, noble character. Her bark is worse than her bite. Mostly. Just don't hurt her brother and you should be fine!
And because tumblr kills images like that's its job, the text:
Dear Pirate Prince Hamin,
Thank you for agreeing to meet with me on the coming Fireday. I am sure you would much rather spend the time finding mischief with my dear brother and he likewise. However, it is on my brother's behalf that I have requested a meeting and am writing this note.
You seem to like Noah very much, which is good because he deserves happiness, and besides he is ridiculously besotted with you. If I have to hear about any of your apparently numerous good qualities one more time, I may take to wearing earmuffs, which would be difficult as I do not have any, and it is quite the wrong season for them. I digress.
My brother is the kind of person who devotes himself fully to his partners, whether a formal arrangement has been made or not. Some people, in the past, have taken advantage of his affections and soft-hearted nature, but he has continued to make connections in a pursuit of happiness despite this.
I certainly hope you are as genuine in your affections as you seem to be. If you are simply toying with Noah, I must insist you stop immediately. I shall remind you that our family is well known for the study of botany, and while Noah may be forgiving, I am not. There are several plants in the gardens here that would make the rest of your time at the Summit rather uncomfortable should they find their way into your belongings.
If you are sincere, though, I shall be the first one, other than Noah of course, to welcome you to the family.
I wasnât planning to do day 1, but I realized last-minute that a long-standing headcanon of mine fit well with the day 1 prompt, so...have some last-minute Shahira meeting her father-in-law.
Fairly rough around the edges, sorry!
Conway scans the horizon, looking for the ship the spotters at the docks had reported. The Blackwater, theyâd thought.
The ship returning with his son. And, if nothing had gotten mucked up on the trip, his future daughter-in-law.
The jewel of the Corvali delegation, to hear everyone tell it. Trust Hamin to manage to do the one thing he wasnât expecting.
It probably would have been more efficient for Corval to send her on a boat themselves, but Hamin had volunteered. Heâs always had a fancy for the idea of properly kidnapping oneâs spouse. (At least he, unlike some of Hiseâs youth, realizes that the phrase âkidnappingâ is mostly a joke these days. Once or twice every year, Conway has to deal with some wayward upstart who took it bit too literally, and their disgruntled would-be spouse.)
Based on Haminâs behavior shortly before he left, thereâs also a very real possibility he would have gone stir-crazy if heâd had to wait that extra week or two before seeing her again. The pacing, the early morning walks to the shore, the smiling off into space when he thinks no oneâs looking. Itâs good to see himâitâs good to see.
As the Blackwater draws closer, Conway puts the looking glass up to his eye and scans the deck.
Itâs pretty easy to pick her out. Thereâs only one person on deck in a skirt, and sheâs got her hands on the railing, leaning forward eagerly, like her new life will start sooner if she can spot it. He knows that look.
The dockmaster catches him then, with a long list of annoyances heâs been meaning to bring to the council. Some of it really does need to be looked into, but a lot of itâŚ
By the time he finally gets free, the Blackwaterâs docked and theyâre dropping the gangplank. He spots his son directing from the deck, making sure itâs firmly settled before heading over to the woman heâd spotted through the looking glass.
Sheâs stepped back from the railing, gathering up her skirts as she looks over her shoulder and smiles at him.
Hamin scoops her up and lifts her off her feet, carrying her down the gangplank like a prize.
(Itâs pretty much exactly what Conway was expecting, but from the womanâs surprised look, she wasnât.)
She thumps his chest playfully, laughing. âHamin, put me down!â If Conway hadnât already known she was Corvali, the lilting edge to her words would make it clear.
âMmâŚno, I think I like you like this.â He looks over and grins. âHi Dad.â
âIâHamin!â she breaks off into breathless laughter. âI canâtâintroduce myselfâto your father like this!â
âSure you can,â he says. âDad, this is Shahira. Shahira, Dad.â
She inhales deeply between bouts of silent giggles, clearly struggling to compose herself, and twists around to face him, her cheeks flushed with laughter. âIâmâpleased to meet you, sir.â She tugs at the dangling fall of her skirt in something that might be aspiring to become a curtsy. Â
He holds out a hand for her to shake, and she takes it, still laughing.
They look good together. Young, happy, ready to start a life side-by-side.
It reminds him ofâ
He firmly drags his mind away from that well-trodden path. Sheâs not coming back. He hopes sheâs happy, wherever she is. Hopes sheâd be proud of their son.
But heâll just have to be proud enough for both of them.
(Shahira meeting her father-in-law while being carried and laughing hysterically has been a headcanon of mine for literal years. Not sure I captured the moment quite like I wanted to, so might try it again someday!)
7kpp Week 2019: Day 2Â â Worldbuilding and ~The Theatre~
During week 5 we get to be part of a theatrical. Clearly theater (or theatre if you are British/feeling fancy) is an important part of the seven nations and I have put too much thought into what that means.Â
Jiyel
Scholars differ on whether Jiyel or Revaire has the longest theatrical tradition, but no one questions that Jiyelese theater is an ancient and varied art that takes a very different form than it does in any of the other nations. The following are just a few examples of Jiyelese traditions as there are too many to go over here.
Single-gender Productions
Until the mixing of cultures brought about by the formation of the summits, it was seen as improper for actors of different sexes to share the same stage in Jiyel. While this view is no longer widely held, the tradition of single-gender troupes is such that there are still many active today. In both all-women and all-men troupes, actors are broken into âmale rolesâ and âfemale rolesâ based on the gender they tend to play on stage. While there are plenty of members of these single-gender troupes who blend into mainstream Jiyelese society by marrying someone of the opposite sex during their career or after their retirement, itâs something of an open secret that single-gender troupes often provide a relatively safe space for the exploration of non-traditional gender or sexual identities. Some actors or actresses live with each other for their entire lives as partners both on and off the stage.Â
Busu
Among the common folk of Jiyel, there is a wildly popular form of theater known as busu which makes use of stock characters, exaggerated and formulaic motions, and slapstick to tell comedic stories. While commonly looked down upon by those of the upper class, busu productions are often more than meets the eye and will hide biting social commentary behind their simple plot lines.*
*This is based on kyogen, which is great and more people should know about it and maybe I will talk about it sometime when Iâm not very tired from my job.Â
Arland
Theater is not viewed as favorably in Arland as it is in the other nations, but even Arland has its unique theatrical traditions.Â
Tableau Vivant
In general, it is viewed as vulgar to take up a living as an actor or actress in Arland, but drama-based games are still a popular pastime among the nobility and are often featured at parties. Of particular note is the creation of tableaux, which involve dressing up and posing to make scenes from famous paintings, literature, or history.Â
Nude TableauxÂ
But tableaux have a more ribald side only seen at the most scandalous of parties. They arenât commonly spoken in polite society and certainly the princess would have never heard of them, but thereâs talk of tableaux featuring costumes that barely qualify as such with only the gauziest of fabrics placed in strategic places. Not that you would know about it, of course. Those are for other people.Â
So, my original plans for day 4 (already late) have been foiled by alpha spoilers. I have a replacement plan, but it requires audience participation. Fandom, meet me halfway.
Iâve assigned random numbers to a list of my MCs and a list of delegate NPCs. Send me an ask with two numbers (1-10 and 1-12) and Iâll write a brief correspondence between the two numbered characters.
Offer open until the 12th, inclusive, since I started late. Feel free to reblog.

Usual Sabine/Zarad stuff. I liked playing with this theme 8)
1616 words, Revaire!MC/Zarad, general
-
Cordelia would never be so vulgar as to yawn, but it seemed Emmett and Clarmont were not above cracking their jaws against the winding down hours. Â And even Cordelia looked a little slack around the cheeks, and she blinked rapidly, turning her lashes into fluttering butterflies struggling to prop her eyes open.
Clarmont threw his hand down on the card table with a rueful smile. âIf I had any idea how quickly I would be bankrupted at the Summit, I might have stayed home.â
Cordelia let the gentlemen push her winning toward her with a small smile. Â It wouldnât do, after all, for a lady to scrabble and stretch across a table.
Beside her, Zarad pushed Sabineâs game chips over along with his own. âI am afraid we always sit at the card table with the princess to our doom.â
âShe sure is--â Emmett started, interrupted by a tonsil-revealing yawn. â--the best here. Â Sorry.â
Cordelia gave him a practiced and indulgent smile. âI hope you all have enjoyed yourselves. Â I certainly have, but I am afraid I am quite tired. Â I think I shall retire.â
âI think that is a good idea,â Clarmont said. Â He stood to pull Cordeliaâs chair.
âOh, no!â Sabine protested. Â She fluttered the fingers of one hand, a champagne flute in the other. âOh, donât go, loves! Â I havenât lost nearly enough yet!â
Cordelia, Clarmont, and Emmett smiled and made their apologies. Â They left the parlor, leaving the dwindling little clusters of chatting delegates and the ever-deepening shadows. Â It had become the habit of the more night- and company-inclined guests to linger together in the parlor for after-dinner drinks. Â For the last few days Zarad and Sabine had run a cards table with rotating partners as their friendâs obligations changed.
Zarad leaned back to the little rolling cart with its ice bucket and pulled the champagne bottle out. Â His silken robes slid a bit more open (shocking that such a thing was even possible!) and the low candlelight went gliding over his desert moon skin. Â He caught her looking and gave her one of the smuggest smolders sheâd witnessed yet. Â She returned a very arch brow.
âCongratulations are in order,â he said, pouring the bottleâs last drops into his glass.
âExcuse me? Â I know you are a little unique in the head, but you canât have already forgotten that I am considerably lighter in the purse tonight.â
âNow, now,â he said. âYou donât have to be so modest with me. Â Youâve succeeded in your greatest ambition, dear. Â Quite an accomplishment!â
She sipped at her glass and didnât dignify him with a comment.
Undeterred, he leaned forward with a smile and a wafter of spiced perfume. âYouâve finally gotten me alone, all to yourself.â
Sabine stared at him. âYou know, you have gotten quite presumptuous of lately. Â Assuming you know my mind before I do. Â Quite ungentlemanly.â
âGentleman? Â I should hope I would never be called that. Â I donât know how well I could bear such an insult. Â And the only thing I know is that I am helpless to stop the heights to which I bedazzle you.â
She placed her flute on the green felt of the card table and pulled some the discarded hands closer to them.
âI donât believe that a bit,â she said, using a finger to flip some cards over, one by one. âIn fact, I think-- no, I know you have caught on to more than you show. Â So show me.â
He gazed at her with quizzical smile. âShow you?â
âTell me which card I am.â
And she flushed then-- because his the muscles around his eyes relaxed that small bit that told her he was looking at her with the constant mask had lifted. Â Lifted just enough for her to peek under-- but it was enough. Â Those peeks felt like being trapped together, nose to nose, beneath a veil. Â She wouldnât say it, but he was right. Â He bedazzled her with his night eyes.
Zarad looked down at the cards, his crooked smile curling back up. Â His fingers danced over the remains of their games.
âIt depends,â he said, tone low, âWhich version of you weâre speaking of.â
She tilted her head, long earrings swinging. âI have versions?â
âIf it is the Red Baroness of Revaire we speak of--â
He pushed a card face-up toward her. Â The queen of clubs, wielding her scepter in a threatening fist. Â The queen of violence. Â Of aggression, self-service.
Zaradâs fingers left the queen of clubs to pick up another card. âIf it is the public Sabine, the baroness you present to society--â
Beside the queen of clubs, he laid down another. Â The queen of diamonds. Â The materialistic woman. Â Wordly and unmindful of greater concerns.
He gazed at her as he selected and put down a third card. âBut beneath even that--â
The queen of hearts. Â The queen of love. Â Love both romantic and platonic, and the peopleâs queen.
Sabine propped her chin on a hand; Cordelia would be horrified at such a casual and unladylike pose. Â But she couldnât help it. Â He was so dangerous, because he made her want to drop each and every facade and game. Â She smiled at him.
He gazed back for a long moment. Â He blinked and dropped his eyes to the cards, surprising her.
She tapped the queen of hearts sitting by her two sisters. âAnd this is the true Sabine?â
He smiled and stared at it. âI wonder.â
Before the moment went too long and too close, Zaradâs hand reached for the cards again. Â He plucked one up, brows back down into their flirty set and his eyes glittering.
âAs for myself--â He laid his card down with a flourish. âThe jack of hearts: the constant servant and devotee to his queen.â
The jack and queen of hearts stared up at them from the green felt. Â They certainly looked a pair, with their matching red ink hearts and twining roses.
Sabine hummed. âAgain, you are always so slippery.â
âOh?â
âIn some games the jack is the highest ranking, and in others it is the lowest. Â Your jack plays at the lover, but he is a trickster.â She raised a brow at him; he smiled vaguely. âI believe it is my turn?â
She reached forward and shifted through the mess of cards. Â When she found it, she glanced up and carefully laid it down before him.
The king of hearts.
They were two of the last delegates left in the parlor, and she could feel the eyes of the servants at the edges of the room. Â She was afraid there was a particular pair of violet eyes boring a hole in her head, but at the moment nothing mattered more to her than the eyes in front of her.
The king hearts is unique of all the kings, not holding his weapon before him. Â Rather, his hand held a sword aloft, stabbing backward and appearing to go straight through his skull. Â The suicide king, heâs called. Â The king of sacrifice, of ill-fated ends.
She watched him stare at the card, and she watched him command the muscles of his face into a smooth facade. Â She summoned her own soft smile, as aware as he of the eyes in the room on them.
âI worry,â she near-whispered, âThat the path youâre on is treacherous and unforgiving. Â It is narrow-- too narrow to allow you the comfort of your true thoughts and feelings. Â That you kill the Zarad you deserve to be constantly. Â Every day.â
She ran a finger up the side of the little paperboard card. âBut you know, there is a different interpretation of the king of hearts; that he is not stabbing himself, but brandishing his sword high in victory.â
Her finger walked from the card across the table to his hand resting on the felt. Â She slipped her fingers beneath his. Â Their eyes met.
âThat is the Zarad I see,â she said, voice so low it was little more than a silent mouthing.
His eyes roamed over her. Â Then darted beyond her, and back again. Â He smiled. âThen the situation is worse than I feared; you have become so bedazzled that you are quite seeing things. Â It seems it is time for us to finally part-- no, donât cling, dear, we must be strong.â
She slipped her hand from his with a wry glare, just as Jasper materialized silently at her shoulder.
âMy lady--â
âYes, Jasper,â Sabine said, standing. Â Zarad stood as well, and she eyed him. âI was just giving some wasted advice to this fool I found here. Â But I had best be on my way now.â
Jasper gave a half-bow and stood aside waiting. Â She gave one last raised brow to the usual sparkling smoulder in Zaradâs eye, and she dipped into the habitual curtsy before turning.
And she stopped. Â Because sheâd laid her hand on the back of the chair sheâd been sitting in as she turned to sweep her skirts free of the card table and its ornate chairs, and on the hand sheâd so thoughtlessly dropped to the back of chair now laid Zaradâs hand. Â His fingers caught her pinky and ring finger, and they lightly squeezed before letting go. Â When she looked up, his smile did not pull a bit out of place or his eyes register anything out of his usual nonsense.
She did not fare so well. Â The suddenness had surprised her, and so her defenses were quite helpless against the strange intimacy of such a small thing. Â Heat rose in her face.
Jasper cleared his throat. Â She whipped around and walked from the parlor, a silly smile barely bit down about her lips.
