1983 ad for the Asterix in Belgium softcover and related competition (closing date 30 June 1983).

This was the 24th Asterix adventure and the last written by Rene Goscinny. He died in 1977, part of the way through writing the story, and the remainder was completed by Albert Uderzo. I think Asterix's reference to there being 27 adventures must be because by the time this came out in softcover there were three more books released with Uderzo having taken over the writing duties as well.

The final panel of the book shows a sad-faced rabbit looking at Goscinny's name.

Death Castle, the SAS Force story that ran in Battle Action Force from the issues cover dated 30 June 1984 to 4 August 1984.

Great logo and always enjoyed Ron Turner's art although given the moody location of the story it would also have been nice to see what Jim Watson would have made of it.

'Knife's Edge' - a one-off from Battle Action Force, 30 June 1984. Art is credited to 'Norma'. It looked a lot like Alberto Salinas although I knew he had ceased his UK comic work in 1982. I thought it might have been a reprint or another artist drawing in his style.

On later looking through older issues I found it was a reprint from Battle Action cover dated 14 October 1978.

Battle did not include story credits in 1978 but Salinas would have been working on UK strips then so I'm sure it is him. It's possible he asked for his name to be changed on the 1984 reprint.
