I forget did you ever explain why Pisca grew back a tentacle if she started with fingers?

I never did!

Well the first answers is ‘I thought it looked cool’

The second answer is there’s a lot of ocean evolved aliens who developed lungs and limbs and bones to adapt. Pisca’s specific race is no different, letting them walk on land and travel the stars, but they still have evolutionary ties to the ocean creatures they once were. Specifically, limb regeneration. Except that regeneration does not include bones and nails or proportions, it just regenerates what it knows how to regenerate after millions of years: tentacles.

Generally, in her modern society, simple octopus and squid folk don’t lose their limbs all that often, but it happens. And they;ll always grow back as tentacles. They can’t lose everything and come back a regular octopus, they have spines and skulls and fragile brains, it wouldn’t work. BUT, if given medical care, they COULD lose all their limbs and grow back 4 tentacles.

For a brief moment this one stands dumbfounded by the question of passengers, it wasn’t bad enough he’d been groggily stamping by them as is, but he couldn’t shake the thought that began to well up in the depths of his mind!

Truthfully this one wasn’t sure where half of them had come from, as he had no recollection of doing business with them, but it wasn’t uncommon for other crewmembers to take on passengers and then pool the money after they’d reached port. After the blaggards had spent a bit of it themselves of course, but hey! Still, he couldn’t shake the last bit of his thought...

Ember Quill: Well, thankfully since everyone is here for their specific talent, all of them are pretty dedicated! But, in terms of being dedicated even to general studies that haven’t got anything to do with their specialization-- That would be Songbird! She’s super focused when it comes to her music classes, but she applies the same level of energy to her non-music related studies. It’s really admirable! Most ponies just do the minimum for gen eds.
