It's unconditional, even if at times unreciprocated, and comes from kinship and a bond that cannot be explained in any other way than just blood.
You might disagree, but an example of it that I find best in Doctor Who is *drum roll please* the Doctor and the Master. Yes, I know they're not exactly family. But when I look at them, and especially at 10Simm... They are the last ones of their kind, the only two left against the rest of the universe, connected through shared past, roots and upbringing. It's that "nobody understands me like you do" thing, because they both come from the same place (planet). And no matter how much they fight and are insufferable to one another, they still remember their childhood together and it is ultimately love...

Who is more likely to raise their voice?The Master, because Tenny knows how much the Master enjoys watching him lose his shit and he deigns to give him the satisfaction. The only time Ten yells first is when he holds it all in and just explodes with or without provocation.
Who threatens to leave but never actually does?Ten, because just the threat of it is enough to render him immobile with guilt over having left the Master before. He knows how much pain he caused, he knows intimately, and even just letting the words slip, letting the possibility of it happening again ever dangle in front of the Master, is disgusting enough. Unless of course itās something more innocent, like storming out of the room and ālosingā himself in the depths of the infinite TARDIS- then heād totally do it. But since Iām taking it to mean actually leaving, Ten M I G H T threaten it, out of anger, during an argument, without even meaning to threaten it, but he would never actually leave. If told to leave he would refuse, because heās stubborn and he made a promise to stay.
Who actually keeps their word and leaves?The Master, and Tenny knows it. It wouldnāt be done lightly- it would only be done if the Doctor hurt the Master in a way [or ways] deemed unforgivable, or something that required time apart to heal or move on from.
Who trashes the house?Both of them. One of them tosses a glass to the floor, the other knocks the glass out of the firstās hand, papers shoved off desktops, torn to bits, books tossed about, tables flipped over, it could get very volatile between Ten and the Master, for sure- especially Simmās Master, because of the HISTORY with that face. Even their arguments are contests to see who is better, who is more, who is angrier, who can articulate the best, who can insult the other betterā¦ itās rather exhausting, honestly, because the Doctor is too stubborn to just LET IT BE.
Do either of them get physical?Both of them do, yes. Trashing the place, shoving one or the other, slapping, maybe a hair tug, scratching of course, biting, grabbing clothing or shoulders, shaking sense into the otherā¦ then it will end with split lips, anger beyond measure, blood-stained flesh and days, sometimes weeks, of not speaking to one another.
How often do they argue/disagree?All the actual time. There are lulls in between of course, and not all of them are knock-down, drag-out arguments either. But, the longer they remain together the less arguments they have. After all, the wounds of the past are still open and raw and festering- even old, healed over wounds re-opened the day they came back together. Theyāre still working on it, the healing and moving forward, so often times they backslide. Three steps forward, two steps back- but at least itās progress.
Who is the first to apologize?Neither. Usually, they come to a silent but mutual understanding wherein they were both acting like idiots and are no longer acting as such. Itās their way of apologizing- softer words, glances, half smiles, scooting closer to each other until contact is initiated, hugging, forehead kisses, eventual reintegration of their mental signatures -instead of actually apologizing with words, which would imply that one of them has āwonā and the other has 'lostā. Once in a while an uttered āsorryā does escape one of them, but it isnāt without grunting and a fair bit of petulance, at least internally.
Sex:
Who is on top?Ten, primarily. The Master is only on top if the position allows. Otherwise, Ten is the one on top.
Who is on the bottom?The Master, unless Ten is drunk in which case they might switch and Ten might be on the bottom.
Who has the strangest desires?That would be Ten, without question. *Wink Wink*
Any kinks?Y E S, where Ten is concerned. Those kinks lean toward the 'BDSMā lifestyle, and when it comes to Ten at least, he has this thing about pain [masochism that turns to sadism in his Dark! version]. Itās best left unsaid and better left experienced. When it comes to the pair of them as a ship, Iād say an Actual Kink is reading poetry to one another to the point of tearing each otherās clothing off and having a go of it right there in the Library.
Whoās dominant in bed?Ten, unless heās drunk, of course. Heās more a submissive top anyway.

Ever had sex in public?Yes, but mainly in low-risk areas due to having been caught out so many times in the past. Not because Tenās necessarily afraid of being caught but more so because he hates being interrupted.
Who moans the most?Ten. Definitely Ten, though he tries to hide it and hold off as long as possible.
Who leaves the most marks?Iād say itās a draw between the two. They both tend to leave as many marks as possible, with or without provocation, sometimes without any sexual implications what-so-ever. Itās more a claim, a 'this is mine, so back offā sort of thing.
Who screams the loudest?The Master. Ten tends to avoid screaming by biting down, either on his own lip or a part of the Master that he can reach. He also thrives on hearing screams of pleasure from the Master, as opposed to screams of pain or anger.
Who is the more experienced of the two?Iād say neither of them, considering the fact that the Doctor in general is demisexual and requires a deep, loving connection to be physically attracted to someone [most Time Lords are asexual]. HOWEVER. Iām gonna have to say Ten, because it would seem he had some sort of mid-regeneration-crisis and became a tad bit of a slut [no shame, just observation].
Do they āfuckā or āmake loveā?Most times, from an outside point of view, the fast and rough and animal-like nature of their coupling could be considered fucking but in reality itās mostly making love. Their connection is deep, deeper than anything any other species could properly comprehend, and to be honest I donāt think they could ever just 'fuckā.
Rough or soft?Rough, at least for the most part. Sometimes itās soft and gentle to start, but generally builds until it becomes a bit rough.
How long do they usually last?Until they both collapse from exhaustion, more or less.
Is protection used?No, it isnāt, as theyāve really no need for it. Theyāre faithful and, as of their reunion, both clean.
Does it ever get boring?BLASPHEMY! It never gets boring! How dare! [No.]
Where is the strangest place theyād have sex?In an enclosed car at the top of a stalled Ferris wheel.

Do your muses plan on having children/or have children?They are planning to have children by way of the Loom. Any children theyāve had in the past fell with Gallifrey in the War.
If so, how many children do your muses want/have?No more than four, no less than two.
Who is the favorite parent?Ten, because heās essentially a big child who is over-eager to provide his own children with experiences and freedoms not granted to himself on Gallifrey.
Who is the authoritative parent?The Master, at least where keeping chaos to a minimum is required.
Who is more likely to allow the children to have a day off school?Ten, for sure. Heād spoil the poor children.
Who lets the children indulge in sweets and junk food when the other isnāt around?Ten, Ten, Tenny Ten. He indulges in sweets far too often himself, so I could see this being an issue with his children as well.
Who turns up to extra curricular activities to support their children?Both of them, of course.
Who goes to parent teacher interviews?Again, both of them, of course.
Who changes the diapers?More than likely Ten, at least when he isnāt too sleep deprived.
Who gets up in the middle of the night to feed the baby?That would be the Master, unless Ten is already awake.
Who spends the most time with the children?Both of them, equally. Neither one would dare be absent.
Who packs their lunch boxes?They trade off, depending on who is awake or who the child asks to pack it [honestly, Ten probably did at first all the time until the Master found out about all the sweets, and took over henceforth to ensure more nutritional value].
Who gives their children āthe talkā?Well, since 'The Talkā is considerably different for Time Lords, Iād say both of them choose to sit down and talk to their child or children together, to tell them the stories required to understand their ways.
Who cleans up after the kids?It depends on whoās with the child at the time, but they switch off.
Who worries the most?Oh man. I donāt want to cop out and say both again, even though itās likely true, so Iād have to say Ten. Heād be the most fussy parent, especially once the child starts to go off on their own.
Who are the children more likely to learn their first swear word from?HAHAHAhahahahaHAHAHAHA!!! Ohhhh, I donāt even know. Their first swear word in English? Probably the Master. In any other language? Ten.
Affection:
Who likes to cuddle?They both like to cuddle, but Tenās the one that freely admits it.
Who is the little spoon?The Master, unless he sneaks up on Ten for a cuddle.

Who struggles to keep their hands to themselves?The Master. Ten prefers to use words, looks, gestures, and hushed tones.
How long can they cuddle until one becomes uncomfortable?I donāt think either of them would get uncomfortable cuddling, unless Ten says something so domestic the Master just simply CANNOT and swans off.
Who gives the most kisses?Ten. Heād attack the Master with kisses until the Master insisted he either stop or lose his life.
What is their favoriteĀ non-sexual activity?Reading together, namely poetry.
Where is their favorite place to cuddle?The media room, the bedroom, the Library or the jumpseat.
Who is more likely to playfully grope the other?T E N again. He likes to fluster the Master by randomly grabbing his arse, or his bits, or tugging at his hair, etc. and then spinning off out of reach and chuckling like a school boy.
How often do they get time to themselves?Quite often, actually- itās required with those two. In fact, it requires a balancing act. Too much time apart or together causes conflict between them.
Sleeping:
Who snores?Ten, without question, and he thinks itās hilarious when the Master complains about it. The Master snores at times, but itās not as common and not nearly as annoying.
If both do, who snores the loudest?Ten, and he drools a bit as well.
Do they share a bed or sleep separately?Both-ish. They share a bed, but they donāt always sleep at the same time nor do they always sleep together.
If they sleep together, do they cozy up together or lay far apart?Generally they cozy up to one another.
Who talks in their sleep?They both do, especially when nightmares are involved.
What do they wear to bed?Ten usually wears pajama bottoms, sometimes with a tshirt sometimes without. There are other times when heāll only wear his pants [boxers], and others when he strips nude before sleeping. Once in a while, when heās utterly exhausted, heāll pass right out fully clothed, shoes and all. Iād imagine the Master wears sleep trousers and a shirt, but the other variables apply to him as well, same as Ten. Just depends.
Are either of the muses insomniacs?Ohhhohohoho. Y E S, honey. They both are.
Can sleeping pills be found by the bedside?For Ten, yes, but he rarely uses them. For the Master, probably not, unless he was in dire need of sleep.
Do they wrap their limbs around each other or just lay side by side?Oh they fully encase one another with limbs, arms and legs alike. Not always, but often enough that it requires mentioning.
Who wakes up with bed hair?Ten, and generally he leaves it that way.
Who wakes up first?The Master.
Who prepares breakfast in bed for the other?They both do this, but the Master does so more often because when Ten does sleep, he SLEEPS, so the Master wakes up first most times.
What is their favoriteĀ sleeping position?Ten prefers to sleep on his stomach, and Iād wager that the Master would be the most comfortable on his back or stomach, as laying on his side for an entire sleep cycle would irritate his injuries.
Who hogs the sheets?Ten. He moves around a bit in his sleep and tends to wake up thoroughly entangled in the sheets.
Do they set an alarm each night?No, they never set an alarm. They use to, in order to be more productive, but the alarms kept being hurled across the room and left to shatter to bits against the wall/floor.
Can a television be found in their bedroom?Absolutely not. The only one that exists on the entire TARDIS is in the media room.

Who is the busiest?Ten likes to make himself appear busy, likes to fill his time and his thoughts with things and stuff so that he doesnāt have to think too much.
Who rakes in the highest income?They both have limitless credit sticks, so Iād wager theyāre both rich, at least in most time periods.
Are either of them unemployed?Hahahahahahahaaaaa I mean, yes, both, technically.
Who takes the most sick days?T E N.
Who is more likely to turn up late to work?T E NNNNN.
Who sucks up to their boss?The Master.
What are their jobs?Timeā¦ Lordsā¦? Is that-ā¦ Is that a thing? Thatās what they are, anyway.
Who stresses the most?Both of them stress, a lot, but I think Ten has the Master beat with this.
Do they enjoy or despise their careers/occupations?Ohh, thatās a loaded question, innit? Ten and the Master both love and hate what they are, and what they task themselves with.

Who does the washing?The Master.
Who takes out the trash?Ten, but he complains about it the entire time.

Who does the cooking?They share the cooking, as both of them love to do it. Ten does burn things a bit, but heās better than he thinks he is.

Who loses the car keys when it comes time to go somewhere?Ten. Again with this strange pattern evolving here.
Who mows the lawn?Neither, there is no lawn to mow. BUT if there were, itād be Ten, because heād want to fiddle with the mowerā¦ which means the Master would end up doing it after a time because the mower would alwaysĀ āmysteriously breakā.
Who answers the telephone?They both do, depending on whoās nearer to the phone at the time.
Who does the vacuuming?They both do- again, Ten only does so because he wants to fiddle with the vacuum and again if this lead to the vacuum breaking too often, the Master would insist Ten never touch it again.
Who does the groceries?They both go, but Ten really enjoys it and the Master finds it rather boring.
Who takes the longest to shower?The Master, for sure.
Who spends the most time in the bathroom?The Master, again.

Is money a problem?Nope.
How many cars do they own?Oh my. Iād say upwards of 15 or so, between them? None of them are on the TARDIS, though, and they span different time periods on different planets, including Earth. The only motor-vehicle thatās kept on the TARDIS would be a motorcycle, mint condition, which is only taken out when in the proper time period on Earth.
Do they own their home or do they rent?Iād say they own the TARDIS but Iām pretty sure the old gal owns THEM.
Do they live near the coast or deep in the countryside?They live in the Vortex, primarily, but when they park they tend to favor countryside or cities.
Do they live in the city or in the country?[ See previous answer ]
Do they enjoy their surroundings?Oh yes, they do- at least most days. Sometimes the TARDIS can be a little much on the bad days.
Whatās their song?Itās an old Gallifreyan song, created before the Curse when love existed and physical intimacy wasnāt forbidden. In terms of Earth songs? Iād have to say itās a tie between Nocturne Op. 9, No. 1 by Chopin and Le Onde by Einaudi. The Doctor actually wrote them both, which the Master does not know- he traveled through time [in his Eighth incarnation, before the War began] to deliver the sheet music for both, ink still drying, to their respective pianists. He was going to reveal this to the Master in an attempt to make amends but never got the chance, as he was called back to Gallifrey for the beginning of the Time War.
What do they do when theyāre away from each other?Generally, think about being together again. For the most part though, they generally do things that donāt need done while theyāre together- errands, fixing things, working on various projects in various parts of the TARDIS, etc..
Where did they first meet?Officially: The Academy.Reality: The red fields between Houses Lungbarrow and Oakdown, before their start at the Academy.

Whoās more likely to flash their assets?Oh, theyāre both guilty of this, but Iād say the Master is far more prone to flashing his ACTUAL assets, whereas Ten tends to lie about his assets to throw others off.
Who finds it amusing when the other trips over?Iād say they both laugh, while asking the other if theyāre alright, but Ten definitely laughs harder than what could be considered appropriate.
Any mental issues?Oh my dear, sweet child. Yes. Both of them suffer from a plethora of mental illnesses due to the trauma theyāve suffered growing up and well into adulthood.
Whoās terrified of bugs?Neither of them are terrified of bugs, but Iād have to say that Ten is fascinated by them, going so far as to befriend them, whereas the Master likely just sees them as a nuisance, unless theyāre rare or exotic in some way.
Who kills the spiders around the house?Neither of them. They capture them and set them free.
Their favorite place?For Ten, it would probably be his secret little art room, or the Library, when he isnāt shoved beneath the grating of the control room or beneath the console unit itself, tangled in wires and smeared in engine grease. Lately heās been keen on a specific technology lab that houses various parts of the last known Loom in existence. Together, I would say the Butterfly Room, if Tenās managed to get up the courage to go into it again, or possibly even the 'Red Fieldsā, which is simply a Gallifreyan simulator room similar to a Holodeck.
Who pays the bills?Bills? What are this? But seriously, they both do as they both have respective bills.
Do they have any fears for their future?All the fears. Every single one. Both of them. But you know what? They have just as many hopes, as well.
Whoās more likely to surprise the other with a fancy dinner?The Master, though Ten has gotten MUCH better about appropriate surprises when in a romantic relationship with someone.
Who uses up all of the hot water?The Master. It takes him the longest to get ready, which says a lot considering all the time Tenny spends getting his hair 'just rightā- though to be fair, that bit doesnāt require water, just copious amounts of hair product.
Whoās the tallest?Ten, and heāll never let the Master forget it.
Whoās more likely to just randomly hop into the shower with the other?Iād say they both do this, a fair amount, generally when one of them is in the bathtub rather than the shower. For the shower Iād have to say the Master does this more frequently than Ten.
Who wanders around in their underwear?T E N, though he usually does wear at least a bathrobe overtop.
Who sings the loudest when singing along to the radio?Ten, for sure. He sings the loudest by default, all the time, generally off key on purpose and once in a while heāll muck up the words just to frustrate the Master and get the Master to sing them properly back to him.
What do they tease each other about?Literally everything. Anything thatās possible to tease one another about, they do it, unless itās too sensitive of a topic, then they tend to avoid it as itās done out of affection most times. It still leads to fights now and then, though, when one or the other doesnāt let up.
Who is more likely to cringe at the otherās fashion sense at times?HahaAHHAhahahaaaaa The Master. Though I have to say, Ten is probably the least likely to get scolded for his fashion sense, given that he actually does wear proper suits with matching ties. The shoes thoughā¦ the shoes.
Do they have mutual friends?Notā¦ anymore. They have mutual enemies, though. Does that count?
Who crushed first?The Doctor, officially. In reality it was an equal and immediate obsession fascination.
Any alcohol or substance related problems?Not currently, no, though they both do drink and Ten does do certain drugs on occasion.
Who is more likely to stumble home, drunk, at 3am?Ten, though generally speaking they only really get drunk together unless the getting drunk has to do with fighting or some such.
Who swears the most?ā¦ā¦. Letās just say the Master gives Ten a run for his money. Ten does swear, a LOT, but mostly in languages that arenāt English. This doesnāt matter, of course, as the Master speaks every language Ten does and therefore can understand him.
