do you guys think the reason jack never kisses the doctor again after the parting of the ways is because he thinks it was a part of the reason why he was left behind?
finally kissing him and showing him how he felt was one of the last things he did and was abandoned almost immediately after. so when he finally finds ten, he tries to find a way to reconcile while distancing himself. they do (somewhat) and he holds onto that for thousands of years, thinking that if he pushes too far, he'll risk the chance of the doctor leaving him again. so he doesn't.
