It took a while to find the Daley plaza. I really don't know my streets in Chicago, but I eventually did. I was really excited to see all the little German shops. I had never seen anything like it. All the little craftsmanship had beautiful details, and nothing was short of perfection. The food smelled amazing and looked so fresh. I have always wanted to visit the country of Germany, and that day I felt like I had a little taste of it. It was also like a surreal experience. I have a white complexion, but the people there were a lot lighter than me; I felt a little dark even. It's interesting to see how they took pride in their culture and nationality. I especially enjoyed the holiday spirt, because Christmas is an important day in Germany. A lot of the traditional American customs porticoed originated from Germany. I didn't take that day for granted at all; I'm glad I had the opportunity to admire or at least, take a glimpse of the German culture.
