I rewatched The Galileo Seven and you know, there’s just a lot of ??? moments and this time, I’m like

how come McCoy was okay with the delay when there was medicine to be delivered?

Like, on one hand, it’s pretty much fine with my own interpretation of McCoy - i.e. he thinks about now, he doesn’t think about the bigger picture, New Paris colony is “out of his mind” and he’s also a scientist, so he would probably like to go and explore the quasar - if we assume quasars also have some biological reasons for him to go idk, I’m not a scientist (I guess observing the effects it could have on the crew is one of the reasons, but is that really something a CMO needs to attend to? honestly, McCoy’s presence is a big WTF)

on the other hand, I don’t think it fits the “McCoy cares so much for lives of others” that’s more common than my own interpretation

but Kirk said, hey, quasar, go and study it, and it seems that neither Spock nor McCoy had any problems with it, or they were at least okay with Kirk’s reasoning “we have two days, we can afford the delay”

and I wonder if Kirk and McCoy at least argued a bit about it. Or, if McCoy was actually the one who pushed Kirk to allow him to go because “wanna study this, Jim, let me go”

idk just me rambling because the episode made me wonder

#kirk was so sad when he thought he lost his men #and then he was so happy when he heard five of them came back #he didn't even know who was back he was just relieved most of them did make it back #and then he was an ass to spock #him and mccoy just like to gang up on spock #also what i also thought of was that even though spock acted in desperation he didn't actually believe that the enterprise would still be #around #which i think could serve as a good stepping stone when it comes to spock and kirk's friendship development #i should probably make a note if there ever comes a day i'd need that lol even though i guess i would address things like these if i #continued my mc/s wip #also it must be funny to watch this episode after the menagerie because it makes kirk look like an idiot when he says #for the first time in your life you committed a purely human act #*emotional #when spock's mutiny exists #in the production order the menagerie is after the galileo seven so it's not a problem #tos nonsense

sometimes i think about how legolas is a prince and had really high standards put on him his whole life (he literally calls his dad ‘lord’? instead of dad?) he always had to live up to his fathers image, do his fathers biddings, and everyone who was around him would only ever see him as his fathers son.

and so to become friends with gimli, who doesn’t give two craps about any of that (if anything, he actually views thranduil in an unfavorable light for imprisoning his dad in the hobbit) that was probably very freeing for him and he could finally truly just be himself for once. it’s no wonder he gets so attached to him bc gimli is probably the first true friend legolas has ever had who likes him for him regardless of parentage :,(

If you’re a man and don’t speak up in times of injustice towards a woman, you’re part of the problem. If you see someone being abusive or perverted or putting a woman in any sort of uncomfortable situation, you must use your advantages to be a voice. Silence is a killer in such scenarios. If men actually held other men accountable, the world would be a very different place.

okay I'm gonna be really emotional for a second.

Iland really changed my life. It made my quarantine so much better and even more bearable. I love all 23 trainees and I'm proud of them for doing this survival show because things can get messy.

Even with all of the hardships and mnet's god-forsaken editing, they still pushed through. And oh my goodness, enhypen is the best thing to ever happen to me. I feel proud to be considered an eggie and engene because I never would've joined this place and met yall without them <3
