From what I can gather, this has nothing to do with Lin Kuan Hui or the production team of the drama. They do credit Lin Kuan Hui in the description, but it seems like iQIYI has the copyright to it to a good extent which is why they can sell it out to make an audio drama and a short drama.
I've listened to the first 2eps, here are my thoughts, no spoilers:
A nice way of putting it would be that the audio drama is faithful to the original drama, but in all honesty it's a subpar one-to-one copy. Don't get me wrong, the voice casting is pretty extravagant, with well known names in the field. I listened to the audio drama and compared the dialogue, it's exactly the same, not a single change in wording or any localisation done.
While it's still in Mandarin, I feel like part of the charm and comedy of the drama works because it's Taiwanese and they speak Taiwanese Mandarin, whereas in the audio drama they all speak standard Northern Mandarin—we're instantly in a Beijing-type vibe. The jokes simply don't hit the same. The pacing, sound effects, and music are not as good as the drama in my opinion. I'm not saying they should change the whole thing drastically or anything, but why make a remake if it's going to be the same thing… may as well just watch (or listen to) the drama.
I'm not sure if the later episodes will have any original content. There are only two episodes released so far, and it's going to be a couple of months before they release the whole thing, we'll see then.
However, they have released extras and one of them is set post-drama timeline, when Yiyong wakes up and they all celebrate New Year together 🥺😭 Guangyan puts a silly red hat on Yiyong while he was in a coma, and Yiyong refuses to put it on now that he's awake. So that's a cute little 4 minute crumb.

Overall thoughts: Very very visually interesting movie with phenomenal acting. It seems like a natural follow up to writer/director Oz Perkins’ The Blackcoat’s Daughter, with a more complex plot and higher production value but similar atmosphere. Unfortunately both films share the flaw of being very slow paced in a way that is not very engaging imo. The only other critique I have is that there could’ve been more gore lol. I looooved the dolls though and I love Lee Harker as a character. It was also deeply unsettling and the slow pacing brings forward the mundane small town domestic horror. I also thought the blend of realism and supernatural was soooo well done, it keeps you questioning the whole movie what’s really going on more than the identity of the killer which feels to me like a subversion of the procedural drama/murder mystery Silence of the Lambs thing. Which is cool because Longlegs is an obvious Buffalo Bill expy but the real horror is the mother and it’s so effective even if you guess the twist. For this reason, Part 3 was the best part of the movie and I think it makes the rest of it worth watching. Looooved the last scene, loved the very very end of the movie. Why did Nic Cage kind of slay
Did I enjoy it: Yes, for the most part. The first 2 acts did drag tbh but act 3 made up for it
