good:
we finally bought a lovesac! another "upper middle class person buys a house" milestone achieved. in all seriousness, i really thought i was being unique and like 12 people at work told me they have the same configuration but ALSO raved about the couch. thank you to my bonus and the eternal 40% off sale at lovesac.
i'm going to toronto for work this week so i don't have to grocery shop.
my parents brought me a rug to try for my bedroom and i LOVE it, so that's $500 saved.
it's my birthday! maybe put this in neither good nor bad. getting older is weird. 36 feels REALLY old in a different way than 35.
bad:
cleveland marathon is today so i am trapped at my apartment until noon.
found our first house problem! we planted grass in the backyard. last night, we turned on the water for the spigot at the front of the house and it leaked! 15 minutes so it was very slightly onto the carpet and thank GOD amy noticed before we left for the night so we could get fans on it. it's a slow drip, and looks like a joint/valve (IDK!!!) is loose. it's 100% why they had the water turned off. liars!!!! the positive news is that the previous owners added the spigot, so there is easy panel access right where it's leaking and the water on/off isn't connected to anything else in the house.
is this just what people deal with? this feels very dramatic to me but my sense is it's minor because people are laughing at my reaction.

realizing now that i was able to spend so much money on bags and shoes and once in a lifetime trips because i wasn't spending $6k to have landscapers excavate my backyard to plant grass and put down slightly darker dirt in flower beds

more house stuff (sorry!)
measuring is important! as a pisces (who does have very good spatial awareness, i will give her that), amy was fully going on vibes when we purchased a giant 4x3 + ottoman configuration sectional for the basement. they had to remove doors and railings to get it in and...it fills the space.
this prompted upstairs measuring, and we saved ourselves from purchasing a lovesac that is 2 feet two long. i just wanted a big comfy couch!
kitchen table purchased on vibes. it should work but lol i lost my damn mind when i let amy just go.
we also got TVs that i am really excited about! our current TV is a 2016 50-inch vizio and we bough a 65 inch frame tv for upstairs and a 77-inch oled (i think LG?) for downstairs, which will be like home theater-adjacent set up.
we also got bonuses paid today (highly relevant)
i am bleeding money every time i step outside does this end? we don't even live there yet
our security camers pick up the neighborhood animals (black cat! baby deer! black and white cat with no tail!) and it's my favorite social media.
