Ohhhh my god??????

ive been thinking about this for a while, about how the way jax is treated by some fans irl is a really bitter reflection of her status as a closeted trans woman. it feels like it adds to the tragedy of it in a way. i see so many fans vitriolically referring to her as a man, refusing to think any further and only thinking they see some sort of predator and abuser. insisting she is irredeemable and should be shunned by the only people she has in her life. jax isn't real but even so, her actions are treated as if they are. "jax is just gooseworx's favourite" yeah. why do you think that is? what is she putting of herself in jax? why do you automatically assume this means the transfem creator must be a violent and abusive person instead of anything else? why do you say you want to see more messy female art but make an exception in this case? the whole thing feels like metatextual performance art.

trans people are allowed to be upset when people say Jax is cis. We don't get nearly any representation, and we already give cis people the characters who are heavily theorized to be trans because cis is the assumed default "normal state." and now, one of the first times a trans woman has been put front and center and made clear "this is explicitly definitely a trans woman!" and suddenly every millions of people appear eager to downplay her as "just a femboy," "cis," "fragile masculinity," or blame the writing. let us have this.

actually yeah the way certain fans treat the character with deep rooted mental illness and interpersonal issues most likely caused by parental abuse and being in denial about his (her) trans identity makes me sick actually. The fact so many think Jax didn't deserve a chance to grow and heal just reinforces the fact that people only support Good Victims/Mentally ill people. Jax is very clearly a rotten egg/so far up her own ass in denial and trying to push away anybody due to the fear of being seen and understood. People just hate trans women or anybody that isn't clearly performing femininity or queerness "correctly"
