2005 | Grey and White Cat. I think this cutie gets overshadowed by the Infamous Milk Cat that got released the same year. My Grey and White Cat (Luka) is one of my favorite ‘kinz cat honestly. Floppy, sweet-faced, a calming shade of grey — what more could you ask for?

2006 | Tree Frog. Baby Caden was Obsessed with the very concept of tree frogs. They’ve got literalsticky fingers! And Ganz made this plush so pretty! I remember just staring at my Tree Frog (Sam) and making him “walk” across walls. Very fun. Very well done. Love these guys.

2007 | Dalmatian!!!!!! Listen to me!! No One I mean No One talks about this pet enough. It’s literally perfect. Even the in-game items are perfect. No notes. Everyone else GO HOME. If the Webkinz Dalmatian has a million fans, then I am one of them. If the Webkinz Dalmatian has ten fans, then I am one of them. If the Webkinz Dalmatian has only one fan then that is me. If the Webkinz Dalmatian has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against the Webkinz Dalmatian, then I am against the world. If you don’t own a Webkinz Dalmatian, buy one now 🫵 jk. but you should. it will increase your happiness by 105% source being Me. 

2008 | Hedgehog. Look, this pick is mostly because I am in love with my Webkinz Hedgehog (Thistle). Pillbug impersonator. Sweetest face. Would highly recommend. 

2009 | Groundhog. Why?? Does no one talk about this one?? Like, that’s literally a groundhog. And groundhogs are plate-shaped, veggie-stealing friends. Maybe I’m just bonded with mine (Woody) because he was a gift from my dad during one of my prolonged sick periods. The fur on their forehead is really fun to ruffle forward and push back. I like doing that. Also they have very chunky bellies that are fun to squeeze, 

2010 | Tree Kangaroo. This one was genuinely hard to pick because this was an absolute banger year for new plush, but I had to pick my ultimate underrated, under-appreciated pet. My Tree Kangaroo (Batter) was another gift for Sick Baby Caden and WOW. I love everything about this guy. Have you seen their pink nose??? I freaking love their pink nose!!! <3 <3 I see very few collectors with this pet and that’s an absolute travesty. 

2011 | Papillon Dog. This year has a lot of very popular pets and a lot of good underrated picks, but I chose the Papillon Dog because I genuinely think a lot of people do not know it exists. I could be completely wrong but I hardly see anyone who has it in their collection. Another travesty because I think it’s one of the more unique dogs Ganz made! I was lucky enough to thrift mine a long, long time ago. His name is Papi and he’s a scruggly old man who is very loved. 

2012 | Badger. Another uncommon one I almost never see! I bought my Badger (Truffle) on a whim because I’m still working toward an 100% Collection. As soon as I had her in my hands, she immediately became one of my favorites. She’s freakishly soft. Softer than most of my other Webkinz. And the plush have these half-lidded eyes that make them look so sweet and sleepy and aahhhhhhhhhh. 

2013 | Choco Cheeky Dog. I’m so incredibly biased. My Choco Cheeky Dog (Riley) was the pet who got me back into Webkinz. In my opinion, it’s the best addition to the Cheeky Dog Line. My favorite feature is its cookie dough nose. Very dear and near to my heart. 

2014 | Enchanted Elephant. Now we are starting to get into the pets I do not have. I like the patterns on this one a lot. I don’t think this elephant gets a lot of attention and that’s a shame because it’s very pretty. Would love to get my hands on it someday.

2015 | Panther. I don’t remember this one being very well-received, though my memory could be off, because it’s essentially a remake of the Black Panther. But. I think this one is better. It has the same yellow eyes but its pupils are slit and it’s got this cute chin scruff. Fun Fact, I got my Panther (Oda) off eBay in 2020 for SIX BUCKS. SIX. Recently I saw it sell for a couple hundred. Wild. 

2016 | Salt and Pepper Dalmatian. You have no idea how much I wanted to put the Sweet Spice Cat here but I can’t break my own rules. So another beloved Dalmatian. Not much to say about this one other than it’s a Dalmatian which automatically makes it superior to its peers. You will be mine someday!! 

2017 | English Cream Retriever. Another incredibly biased pick. What can I say? I love my Quba. One of the best!! dogs Ganz ever made. It’s like the Butterscotch Retriever but Better (no offense to the Butterscotch Retriever). Extremely soft. Extremely pleasing to look at. Ears are fun to flop about. Incredible. No notes. 

2018 | Sheepdog. Last but not least. Another remake BUT. I like it. So I’ll be nice. I do think it’s not as good as the original Sheepdog, but it’s still very cute. Its head is humongous which is very very endearing. I got my Sheepdog (Susie Mae) in the same order as Oda. She wasn’t my favorite at first, but nowadays I’m so so grateful to have her. I think she’s very neat.
