Honestly I have to admit I don't hate Oggy and The Cockroaches the Next Generation.

I feel like it's definitely just OK but like I love how Oggy feels middle aged or retired in it unlike s1-7

Idk it just feels right, or maybe that's cuz I've only seen the first ep but I really dig the wholesomeness mixed in the oggy filled chaos.

Merlin dismantles the Vespa which represents Jim's humanity, he dismantles the narrative that Jim's humanity has saved him in Trollhunters.

He spits in the face of Blinkys work of proving that Jim made it this far because of his humanity.

And rebuilds it into a new narrative, Jim will change a lot but even through everything he is still the same Jim, just set for a different purpose.

Wait I was talking about the vespa- whatever it has the same narrative just repurposed into armor for Toby and Claire.

I feel like the PERFECT example of "some filler is good actually" is Trollhunters. Season one is LONG and they really took their time to flesh out their characters/concepts there. Later seasons meanwhile were shorter, faster paced, more serious and pretty much completely serialized.

NOT SAYING that the later seasons were bad or anything, this show is peak all around! But I did sometimes miss the more lighthearted standalone episodes dedicated to fleshing out a concept or character. They were fun and pretty much absent from season 2-onwards.

I do also like 3Below and Wizards but their shorter running time + lightning pace did make the shows suffer a bit. Especially Wizards.

Honestly I think about how almost all the Dreamworks TV shows on netflix had this similar formula of technically being story focused but having some filler eps.

Rewatching a few Boss Baby tv show eps it's kinda obvious how Ted definitely has a favorite, I mean look at how he treats both nieces differently.

He sees and projects onto Tabitha because she's more logical and business oriented, being her mentor it does make sense in that regard.

With Tina they have such different views and ideologies they clash often, you can tell how much Tina gets from her father.

This doesn't change the fact he loves both nieces, but he loves Tabitha more, and also because Tina is his coworker in back in the crib.
