USS Ardmore CVX 03
Another massive warship for my Httyd taking place in ww2 fanfiction. This is the USS Ardmore the only surviving carrier from operation Razor. Built in 1938 using an experimental 60,000 ton hull with armor reinforced flight and hangar decks. This massive ship would be one of several ships that were swamped with Wingmaidens during the evacuation of wingmaiden islands and also sustain multiple hits from Krogan’s fleet shelling the islands and allied fleet. All while taking in fleeing Wingmaidens. Refered to by crews as the USS Maiden’s island on her trip back to the UK due to the 2500 wingmaidens crowding the ship.
Specs: Builder, Camden NJ Navel Yards. Length: 1020ft (311meters) over bow, Beam: 150ft(50meters) draft: 35ft (12meters) speed 25 Knots cruise (33 knots flank) powerplant: 16 GE steam boilers, 8 steam turbines. Armament: main: 8”(8 barrels 2 per turret) secondary: 5”(11 barrels 1 per turret) AA: 20MM and 40 MM Armor: 12” hull, 8” decks,6”sides of hangar and supper structure.
