That's some high quality 💧h2o💧
Don't even need to have high bg to want to drink it so fast
I figured I better hop on the bandwagon.
Competition in the chronic illness community has GOT to stop. We’re all on the team, we’re all suffering and in pain.
If someone has the same illness, a different one or even a whole slew of them, it doesn’t mean your struggles are invalid and it doesn’t invalidate theirs either.
Let’s stop trying to be the sickest and start supporting each other, yeah?

I have been type 1 diabetic for 15 years today
Happy Diaversity! May your number be ever in your favor!
Who’s going to be held accountable for this?!
Me when I was first diagnosed: okay all my food needs to be in measuring cups with EXACT measurements and I need to know EXACTLY how many carbs are in each item…
Me now: *dumps a bunch of random food on my plate* ayyy this is probably, like, 60g or something…
High at the 400 at 3:30am, insulin won't come down even after big bolus. Changed my catheter, bolused again, please please come down now. Am sooo fucking tired.

The girl i’m seeing gifted me with this blood sugar recovery box for xmas! I am so delighted! This will bring me so much peace of mind at night. How was everyone’s holiday? How did your blood sugars look? (No shame. I hit the 300′s a few times)
Diabetic Culture is:
pricking a finger and bleeding from 2 places at once
saying ‘I’ll stab you’ whenever someone annoys you
getting every question on diabetes right in a science test
letting out a string of curse words when you hit a nerve while injecting/changing pump sites
making jokes and reminiscing when you had a working pancreas
joining up the finger prick scars to make a constellation
being so low that you eat everything in sight
getting overly excited when you meet another diabetic
glaring at people when you eat something that they class as ‘unsuitable for diabetics’
celebrating your diaversary
finding diabuddies
2019 will be a year of self-love.
Hello fellow diabetics around the globe. I have no finally changed to freestyle libre and today is my first day using it.
A question has popped up though. Has anybody had problems with it getting caught on stuff likes clothes or loosening too soon? Or loosening after a shower? I haven’t had the experience yet and if it should happen, what can one do?

Type 1 diabetes and mental health.
There seems to be a massive underestimation about how mich chronic illness affects mental wellbeing.
Yesterday, I went to a therapy session. I told a woman I had never met before ‘why I was there’…that I’ve had a broken pancreas for 13 years. That it makes me anxious, think the worst, feel that my body was broken.
I’m working on it, but it’s taken a long time, and several really low moments, to get here. Please look after yourself, mind and body, and know you’re not the numbers and graphs on your meter.
This was 2 years ago. I’m still not 100 percent better. It takes constant work
Today is World Diabetes Day. It is also the birthday of the person who discovered that insulin could be used to manage diabetes (and note I said manage, not cure). As many of you know, I have type 1 diabetes, which means that little pink pump goes everywhere I go. My type 1 friends are some of the most resilient people. They put up with a lot of pricks (literally), and make it look easy. It isn’t easy. This autoimmune disease is serious. It can affect your physical and mental health, and you never get a day off. The help and support of friends, family and other t1s is vital. As is awareness, so if all you know about diabetes is what you learnt in GCSE biology, please go to the JDRF website, or got to beyondtypeone.org https://www.instagram.com/becc1tate/p/BqKECsoAlnk/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=kdyoqfk2dwix
