Why’d this blog give up on diabetics :(
Oh no! I’m sorry you feel that way. I can tell that this blog really meant something to you, and likely to many many others. I promise, with every unit of insulin I’ve ever injected, that I still support you in your T1D journey, even if I’m not posting here.
To be entirely honest, I moved away from tumblr and most other social media. It ate up my time, especially when I needed to focus on my coursework at college. I’m nearing graduation, but the road has not been easy for me. Even after I graduate, I doubt I will have the time and energy to scour the T1D related tags, reposting and queuing the wonderfully inspiring selfies that have made this blog such a valuable place for us type ones who may struggle with body image or feeling alone in the world because of our condition.
If someone would like to give back to the tumblrbetic community and become a moderator for this blog, feel free to send me a message! In creating and running this blog, I overcame a lot of my diabetes related insecurities, and felt less alone when I only knew one other diabetic my age that lived even remotely near me. I can’t promise it will do the same thing for you, but maybe it will help, and that’s really what this blog is about.

Content Guidelines Change
Hello fellow tumblrbetics!
As many of you have probably heard, tumblr is removing all content that is “not safe for work” in the next two weeks. I have seen a few posts of how the ban is affecting supportive communities and blogs, even those that are not related to gender or sexuality.
While I do my best to keep all reblogs and relatively safe for work in order to share the body positivity with as many diabetics as possible, at least 50 of my reblogs have been flagged as potentially NSFW. A majority of the flags are unwarranted, and most likely due to the fact that showing off pumps/sites/injections involves showing some skin. I do hope that this blog will not be considered for deletion, and that not many of the lovely selfies you all post will be deleted. Worst case scenario, I’ll miss all 1,215 of you.
I will not be “moving” this blog elsewhere, but it sounds like many will do just that. Hopefully we can keep the tumblrbetic community here, and that the future of tumblr will not threaten the friendly and supportive community that has developed here.

Day 19: Diabetes Accessories . I took this picture at the start line of the Swansea Half Marathon before we broke the world record for the most people with T1D to run this distance together. . Day 7 - The Bright Side of Diabetes (yes there is one) this picture encapsulates so much. . Diabetes gave me an athletics career… 20+ international honours, 2 captaincies, 4 British Universities Medals and a Nike Campaign. . How? Because it taught me that life is precious and that dreams are there for the taking. . Diabetes is hard to live with sometimes, you need resilience, determination and motivation to succeed with it- exactly what you need in sport. . Finally, this picture is important because when I started athletics I was alone with the condition, but this day 12 years after starting sprinting was a relay with a fellow type 1 in the squad.
