A merry fuck you to the fact this person DOUBLED DOWN when I said that these systems may not be in a safe place (physically or mentally) to start looking at the (arguably very complex) science behind having DID/OSDD1/PDID.

And a final fuck you to the fact that this person went on a whole rant saying that you are not allowed to view your alters as separate beings, and that they didnt care if thats how your alters presented you have to treat them all the same way or youre anti recovery.

I am considering making a “list of common syscourse strawman” post including:

- endos claim to have cdds without trauma (most of them don’t)

- anti endos think pro endo cdd systems dont belong in cdd spaces (most of dont, we just dont want you in ANTI ENDO spaces. the greater cdd community isnt an anti endo space)

- anti endos think that only pwcdds can experience dissociation (most of us dont)

- anti endos think that nobody else can use the word system in any context (thats not what we’re saying)

im a little blurry rn so i cant think of any others but comment below ur least favorite syscourse strawman

as well as strawmen both sides use, such as:

- Co morbid conditions, including vulnerability to addiction (be normal abt addicts or die by my blade)

- Anhedonia , apathy , or just the general difficulty processing emotion that comes with chronic dissociation

- How damn isolating the condition can be

- How systemhood can intersect and affect/be affected by other identities (the unique experiences of poc systems, physically disabled systems, neurodivergent systems, queer systems, etc)

- Suicidal ideation

- Time loss

- Identity disturbance and issues with identity beyond the existence of alters

- Phobias developed by trauma

- Amnesia and the ways it can manifest

- CDD representation in media, either coded or explicit, and ways you relate to them

- P-DID and OSDD systems and their specific experiences

- How to advocate for yourself as a pwcdd in medical / professional spaces

Although, I can understand why a lot of this stuff isn’t talked about to an extent. It can be deeply personal and dangerous, especially if you participate in syscourse where pro/anti endos or endos themselves may use that information to hurt you for your opinions.

- Abuser introjects

- Fusion and integration (without cenorship of it or acting like it’s triggering)

- Alters with very different beliefs from the rest of the system (I refer to them as Ego-Dystonic Parts)

- Alters reenacting abuse internally

- Communication tips, both internal and external

- Self advocacy between parts

All of these, including the things I listed above are normal symptoms of the disorder. Do not be ashamed for experiencing these.

Depression can mess with your memory a lot. A lack of sleep also affects it.

I'm so tired of people armchair diagnosing everyone with DID 🫩

Someone could be like "yeah I act differently at a funeral than I would at a party" and there'd be a million comments like "ermmm... Have you heard of plurality??"

Let's stop watering down a complex disorder to just "thing where you get alters"??? Let's stop trying to inform people about a condition without even knowing the basics of how it works???

hey.. guys.. guys... someone on here—i dont know which one, but they're in our community i believe—has made a post relating to empowered multiples and stated that Sigmund Freud coined endogenic. I cannot find the post for the LIFE of me, but I saw a screenshot and I genuinely got really mad because now we're spreading misinfo without any sources for the hell of it. Sigmund Freud did NOT coin 'endogenic'. The term came from endogenous—a word used by early psychiatrists like Emil Kraepelin in the late 1800s to describe the biological roots of mental disorders—and in online psychiatry and early Tumblr around 2014, the term endogenic was made. Check your sources before making info posts, I literally BEG you.
