saw a comment that misspelled “kind gesture” as “kind jester” and am now imagining a beautiful world where we praise good samaritans by calling them kind jesters. good on you, you gentle fool. you’ve made the world a sweeter and sillier place.

All these tourists having a great time at the World Cup isn't surprising b/c the first rule of America is that this place rules if you have money to blow and it's a nightmare if you don't. The prohibitively high cost of attending the World Cup filtered out all the ppl who don't have money so all the people who actually made it to the U.S. are basically guaranteed to have fun

washing dishes is evil because you go "oh fuck there's so many dishes this is gonna take foreverrr" and then you enter the dish abyss and emerge with your abdomen somehow covered in water and your hands all wrinky and then you look at the clock and what felt like half an hour was actually 10 minutes

getting stressed over having ONE place to go even when you factually know it won't be that bad and won't take that long. i feel like every piece of advice that's like "get out of the house more" like. WILDLY underestimates how much i like staying home. like they seem to work under this assumption that you are sitting there bitterly wishing you could go out and do something fun and simply are too sad or scared or whatever to be able to bring yourself to do it, so you'll automatically become happier if you overcome that. but i realized that 95% of the time for me that just straight up is not true, because I didn't have an underlying suppressed desire to leave the house and Do More Stuff in the first place. which just leads to more anxiety because nobody ever points out that there's a difference between "do stuff you don't want to, because part of you does/ it has an outcome you do want" and "do stuff you don't want to, just because you think you have to Or Else" in general i feel like mental health advice overall has way too many of these kinds of hidden assumptions about what you want, and that's part of why people get so pissy about the most common advice, which in turn makes people assume "oh you're just making excuses" instead of "i've misidentified what you actually want and value in the first place"

every time i watch some piece of media about how abused children need to put in the work to understand their poor put upon parents i think about the scene in the asoue netflix show where klaus is told his shitty boss had a terrible childhood and says "i'm having a very terrible childhood right now". like damn gottem pack it up we can stop doing this narrative in film and literature now

I really do wish meeting new people when you're autistic didn't result in the person viewing you as secretly evil for at least a month before realizing you just act slightly different than others without ulterior motive. I get that people meet a lot of assholes in life but omg. I didn't do anything
