also there's a reason that a lot of 90s critical feminist film scholarship specifically mentions Goncharov. in many ways its characters challenged calcified depictions of lust and desire in crime dramas, specifically ones that took place in a typical politicized "Eastern European" setting. it's crazy to me that no one on this website watches movies that actually give them the kind of horniness they claim to want.
