I always thought that Al was murdered by Dauntless leadership because they found his body at the bottom of the chasm—the same place Tori’s divergent brother was found murdered.

For some reason, I always associated the two and thought it was implied that Al was also murdered. I guess this doesn’t make total sense since Al wasn’t divergent or anything special, so there was no reason for him to be killed.

My only reasoning was that when Tris is being attacked by those guys, including Al, she describes his face as sort of expressionless and then when he apologizes the next morning, he says that he doesn’t know what took over him.

We know that Dauntless has the injections that they can use to control people’s minds and actions, so I thought this is what they were doing and that they were using Al to get rid of Tris. I thought that since they failed, they staged Al’s death as a guilt-driven suicide so no one would look further into his reasonings for attacking Tris.

Why is Christina so much higher than Tris in the rankings? It could just be because Eric hates Tris and moves her lower than she should be, but she is objectively better at a lot of the tasks than other people. She becomes a good shooter, knife thrower, and a decent fighter. Plus, she is way smarter and more savvy.

The other thing is why Peter is ranked like second. He’s ranked higher than Uriah, who we know from the books and briefly from the movies, who is a dauntless-born. I just don’t see anything special about him. He is more physically fit I guess, but in the later movies Tris still matches him well. I just don’t see him being better than most others.

Again, the answer to both of these could just be Eric’s bias and that he manually is ranking everyone. I always thought it was a digitized system and that he could put them in situations where they’d fail, but couldn’t directly influence their rankings.

If the actor had to leave, they could’ve just written his character out by having him and Daisy move away when she has their baby.

They mention his character while they’re grieving, but I don’t think they seem as sad as they should be. He was literally Booth and Brennan’s son. He lived in their home for months and took care of their daughter. Gordon Gordon says that he was looking for a family and Brennan said they could find him a permanent place with them.

I just think his death would’ve traumatized them a lot more.

Plus, I don’t like the way they have the time jump before his death while Booth is in jail. The whole plot just wasn’t my favorite.

And for him to not tell anyone that he was having a kid? I feel like it would be more likely that he would’ve freaked out when Daisy told him and then gone to Booth for reassurance. He would’ve worried that he would be a bad father and he and Booth would’ve bonded over that because of both of their struggles with their biological parents.

Her husband works on homicides in the FBI and she is a forensic anthropologist who identifies murder victims.

I get they are nicknames and they are colleagues, but they are also close friends.

I don’t know if I’ve ever heard Booth or Brennan call each other by their first names. Angela also calls them Booth and Brennan. She calls her husband by his last name too.

I just feel like it’s a little odd. Why wouldn’t Angela call her Temperance? They are best friends since before they worked together. And calling her husband by his last name feels weird too.

I think only Angela, Cam, and a few of the squinterns are called by their first names.

Plus Cam calls Booth “Seeley.”

I get that Booth refers to Brennan as “Bones” because that’s his nickname for her, but why wouldn’t she call him by his first name since she has no nickname for him?

She literally abandoned her two sons to their physically abusive dad and then never checked in on them again. Didn’t even tell their grandfather (who eventually ends up raising them) what was going on.

They don’t even give us a reason in the show as to why she didn’t report him or leave him and take the kids.

Then in the episode when she returns, Booth makes an excellent point which is that she left her kids to find love and raise someone else’s kids. He says that he always figured she couldn’t be a mom, but it turns out she could she just didn’t want to be his mom.

Then she gets all upset with him and is like “this was a mistake” and storms off. She expects him to just get over the abandonment and not bring it up because it makes her feel guilty.

After all that, Booth still goes to her wedding due to Brennan’s encouragement.

She literally refuses to testify at Brennan’s dad’s murder trial because she refuses to help do something that will hurt Brennan and even gets put in jail for contempt of court.

She also offers Brennan a fake alibi with her when Brennan is a suspect in her friend’s murder. She is literally willing to go to jail for Brennan.

When she denies Booth’s proposal she says “I’m not the marrying kind” and Booth says “well I am” and she responds saying “I know. I thought we’d have more time before we got to here.”

I get what she’s saying, but why would she continue in the relationship when she knew that they were fundamentally incompatible because of their different wants for the future?

I guess it’s both of their faults though because she does even say to him that she has mentioned it to him before multiple times, but he must’ve not been listening. I guess he also shouldn’t have proposed after she had said she didn’t want to get married.

Angela gives Booth a kiss on the forehead and Brennan jokes “you want me to give you a kiss on the forehead too?” And Booth replies seriously: “sure” and even closes his eyes to be ready for it.

Then, later in the episode Bones gets stabbed and Booth holds her and says “I got you, baby. I’m not going anywhere.”

We see this when Bones argues with Booth about God, with Avalon the psychic, when Bones is framed for murder and loses her memory, and a bunch more times.

The show leans more scientific because of Bones’ rationality.

My question is: does magic really exist in the show? I think so.

We know from the Ichabod Crane episode that the two shows are in the same universe and because Sleepy Hollow is a supernatural show, that means that supernatural entities exist in the Bones universe.

He is set on talking to Brennan before he goes into surgery, yet we don’t see him talk to his son on the phone or in person? Very odd considering he’s all “I might die.”

Also, this episode and the one after with the coma dream about him being married to Brennan is so ughhhhh. Like why can’t they just admit their feelings for each other and be together?

I get that Brennan has abandonment issues and is scared of being with Booth and being vulnerable because he could leave or die, but I just don’t see why she wouldn’t give it a chance. I guess she is also scared of feeling emotions and that’s why she’s always so rational. At the same time though, she has these moments often where she says to Booth or Angela that she wishes she could be like them and believe in love or faith. It’s just so frustrating how she is always getting in her own way.

Their slow burn is like the king of all slow burns. They do things that are just so unbelievably not platonic and everyone around them just rolls their eyes cause they are like “they are so obvious.”

I don’t know how Sweets does therapy sessions with them because it is so frustrating how they lie to themselves and each other and pretend everything is fine when they are obviously yearning for each other. If I were Sweets I would be unprofessional and just say “YOU OBVIOUSLY LOVE EACH OTHER JUST GET TOGETHER ALREADY!!!”

I don’t remember if when they are together they ever discuss how stupid they were being, but they should’ve.

The ending scene in the S4E21 “Mayhem on a Cross” episode is one of my favorite scenes.

The way that Booth and Brennan are like Sweets older siblings or parents just warms my heart.

How they both decide to share a vulnerable moment from their childhood with Sweets in order to show him that he is not alone after finding out he was abused as a kid prior to being adopted.

And then the look on Sweets’ face when he realizing what Gordon Gordon was talking about earlier when he said that Booth and Brennan aren’t mutually repressing their love and attraction for each other, but rather “one of them is acutely aware of that attraction and struggles daily with it.”

Booth consoling Brennan over her sharing of her trauma is what makes Sweets realize that Booth has known all along that he is in love with Brennan and struggles with that fact because Brennan isn’t ready to confront her feelings for him.

“are you sleeping with my daughter? Why not? Are you gay? Is she not attractive enough for you? Is it because I’m her father?”
